Thanks Becky. I'm glad to hear that from you, and it's some ammo I can take to my dealer, who insists that the stock steel wheels go back as a "core exchange" for the LPO wheels.

The LPO rims would come separately and the dealership would need to take the tires off the stock rims and put them on the LPO rims. He also noted that the stock rims should be mine to keep if I want them.

I think my salesman and the ordering manager thought I was a secret shopper or some corporate chevy guy (or maybe from a competing dealership) testing them. I was just armed with all the info shared here. I had all the LPO codes, prices, and requested my order SRE.

They literally asked me "how do you know all this?" - I told them to check out the forums here. I think they were actually a little skeptical that I was for real. Guess I just knew more than the typical customer.

When I found out my order went 2000 I text my salesman that they got allocation and that my order was accepted. He seemed surprised and asked how I found out so quickly.

YES! This makes two dealers of which I can refer when talk to my dealer next time I see him, so thanks. He told me that the car will arrive on steel wheels and they must be returned as a core exchange for the LPO wheels.

When you ordered LPO, did you also get to choose the stock wheels as well or did it force you to stick with the defaults?

The system defaults to the stock wheels. You should clearly see both on your order. I know it is this way for the black 5 split-spoke rims. I can't speak to the other options or rims.

No choice. In the Corvette world, many sell the original wheels back to the dealer. I expect both parties come to a mutually agreeable deal just as they did for the original sale.

When it comes to ordering a vehicle and even worse when it comes to ordering a brand new vehicle... Dealerships can be a living hell to go through. I got really lucky, Huffiness was and still is FANTASTIC. A friend of mine ordered his c7 z51 through them and he told me about em. Glad I went through them, not only for their customer service but also they just might have a better allocation for them as they are in TX vs me living in AR at the time. AR probably had the lowest priority LOL.

Me? We have not gotten my invoice from Chevy yet, that'll happen after they are done with their quality check. It could be 2 days or 2 weeks lol.

Ah, I just know that some folks have already negotiated a deal based on unknown pricing. (I.e. agreed to $200 over invoice price).

When working on that, make sure you let them know that you were referred by your buddy and that he purchased a Z51 - hopefully this will get you an even better deal.

Oh, for sure. Great call!

Before I even ordered, I told them that I do not expect to pay invoice or close to it especially for a brand new model let a lone a brand new car however will not pay a DIME over MSRP and they agreed they would sell it all at MSRP.

I have never gotten a vehicle at MSRP so far, my negotiation price is always been invoice and MSRP. I've gotten 3 brand new vehicles so far and I only paid between invoice and MSRP (hell, the last car I got... 5 bucks over invoice haha). The numbers between MSRP and invoice, it is a win win. Dealership makes some money and i save some thus they get my business. I am always prepared to walk away, there are a gagilion dealerships around, I am not afraid to fly or drive to get one from the next town, city, state.

My manager literally asked me if I worked for GM, he was not joking at all!
