All show and no special go :/

C ' mon Dodge..this car with 20 X 10's, 295/285 staggered setup, full track suspension, the carbon fiber seats etc as this concept, AC as an option, sound deadening reduction, aluminum drive shaft, factory CAI, Borla catback (Borla I think makes the Mopar branded stuff)

I can see a future with a 3950 lb, 515 HP/ 500 tq Challenger T/A for 47,000..and that is GOOD.

Doesn't need it, it has hood pins. They did put coilovers on the dart R/T though.

Interesting they did a factory rear-seat delete....As I recall this was something the Z/28 couldn't even pull off due to various reasons....Rear seat delete would have been cool from the factory for the Z/28 and 1LE....

Kudos to Dodge for this type of thing (however lacking it may be in the suspension department....but hey, there's always the aftermarket)...

i've coached a lot of MOPAR students at tracks, they are all fast, amazing motor. For grocery haulers they do well at the track as well. If they dialed in there suspension/tire package it could be great.

Here is another article with a few more details (excluding suspension talk) and more pics... http://blog.caranddriver.com/dodge-c...flair-to-sema/

This car would be 10x better if they put more focus on suspension geometry, suspension components and balance of the whole car and its systems.

What I do like is that both inboard lights were removed and the air-catcher now routes air to the engine through a double intake. Would love to see that double intake on that 392!

But, this IS a concept and all the items that were mentioned will be available through the Mopar catalog, so looks like this is just a concept showing of parts from the Mopar catalog.

I forget where I read it, but one fellow out there did a bunch of work, suspension and brake wise, to a 2014 SRT Core Challenger, and with (I think) 295's out back and 275's out front and other changes routinely pulls well over 1.0g's (1.10 IIRC per a data box) on open track days.

The Challenger has it in it to be a very good open road car, Mopar just needs to nut up and do it.

GM could have deleted the rear seat on the Z/28 but decided not to because of the Corvette.

305's will definitely not fit on the front of the Challenger.

Nope, 285 in the front is the widest I've seen without serious suspension work or new fenders.

There were rumors flying around PIR duing the Challenger press days about a "1LE level Challenger" concept that was testing in Michigan running a 275 front, 295 rear setup with "Viper level shocks and springs" that they were testing. I don't know if they were talking about stuff for the SCCA car or a future full production T/A Challenger, but they were working on it.

You do know that is only one track right (VIR)?

There is a 4 second gap between the TA and Z28 at Laguna. Barely...
