The reason I sold my GEN five manual is because of my middle aged knee. After being stuck in traffic or light to light driving It did not like it

Are you actually looking for a different Camaro? I thought you were waiting a year or so to be able to fix the one you have? Maybe my comment was a little to broad. Lots of people's brains (in winter states) are starting to move away from summer hobbies and into fall winter hobbies. Yes, not everyone..! I get that. For me, once the NFL season starts (which it has, Packer game tomorrow) and golf league ends ( 2 weeks) my brain starts to realize the nice days are numbered.

and to be honest, it was a lot more work driving the manual.

Or course buy used. A buddy of mine works sales at the local chevy dealer and he is making a killing on people trading in their 23's so they can get a 24. He says its crazy money he is taking home. 15% loss per year on a used camaro, the dealer just plays the numbers game to make it looks like you are getting a good deal. Slight of hand because people are excited about a new one. I have been trying to find a used ZL1 from a private party but everyone is trading in at the dealer. I did find a 22 vert for $60k but it was riptide blue and that was a deal breaker.

My guess... You'll have to just dump it. Highly doubt used EV market will ever be any good.

Riptide Blue is a new color for 2024 cars. You mean Riverside Blue or Rapid Blue?

It’s almost unbelievable used car prices are dropping like a stone with the new msrp increasing like they are

yes I meant rapid blue or should I say for mustang blue. Its their
flagship color, GM should have stayed away from it.

My biggest concern is how the car was treated, especially with really low mileage. I wonder the real reason some people dump these after just 500-1000 miles. Was it just not for them? Regardless, you just have to consider that things might not have been done the way you would have if buying the car new, like for example, a proper break-in.

The original owner had a small collection of cars, and he just didn’t drive the Camaro. It’s mint condition except for a small paint chip, and some cobwebs.

That makes sense, another trick that they do is focus on the monthly payment rather than the overall price, and the former top sales person then greats you in the finance office. Going from a 23 to 24 doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

These things are pretty indestructible imo. So I don’t have any extra fear because it’s a sports car.

My concerns are the same of that of any used car, cosmetics, extreme abuse, run without or low on oil. I’m paranoid of someone leaving a oil change shop with no oil, they fill it and just drive straight to trade it in. Lol

I vowed never to buy a new car again after a BMW 135i convertible sold after 1 year (moving to NYC, no car needed) and a Merc C300 sold after 9 months (bored, replaced with a 2012 AMG C63 Coupe).

I’ve bought used cars with 3K, 20K, 50K, 72K, and even 88K - all turned out just fine!

My 2017 ZL1 Vert was 2 years old, 3K miles - $51K instead of $70K new.

And if it’s remote, get a service like Lemon Squad to go test drive it and photo document it for you.
