So things have been very quiet for me on the Camaro front as the wife wanted us to sell our beautiful home in Massachusetts and move somewhere with more land and privacy. So effective the end of January, we are now proud homeowners in New Hampshire! With 7 1/2 acres and a near 1/4 mile long driveway, we’ve got privacy in spades. Plus, NH no longer requires automotive inspections… huge bonus!

Unfortunately although the garage is nearly the same square footage as my previous 3 car garage, it’s going to be a challenge to get 3 cars in it so I’ll probably buy a lift eventually so that I can stack the Camaro and Mustang (and therefore not leave the AMG outside). In the meantime, this garage needs to be made great again! Floor is gross, walls & paint are dirty and smudged, garage door side seals are faded and breaking away, utility sink doesn’t work, cheap crap wire rack shelves, cabinets are crap, half the lights don’t work, the outdoor sillcock (plumber speak for hose faucet) is junk, etc. And although it has radiant heat in the slab, there’s no dedicated garage thermostat or zoning, so it’s borderline freezing in there. So that’s getting fixed this spring for sure. Oh, and no A/C either. No bueno!

So today I had one of my plumbers over. We demolished the old storage cabinets and utility sink, and took out the old sillcock. We (they lol) installed a new utility sink and new faucet along with new flex connections and drainage so now that’s fixed. The outdoor sillcock was replaced with a new frost-free one and an access panel cut in so that future replacements will be much easier. I then had my carpenter over and he installed all new garage door side seals. Three small steps down, many more to go…!

Here’s a “before” pic… I promise you this garage will be dramatically different before this summer is over.

WoW... congrats... moving is tough but you're well on your way.

That garage has a ton of potential with doors front and back and windows. Will be very nice I'm sure when you're done. How high is the ceiling for the lift?

Happy for you, Josh, this move is definitely a major upgrade

Good luck with the garage makeover, too (and your newly intensified labor camp duties commonly called "homeownership", haha), keep us posted on the progress. Indeed this has great potential, can't wait to see how you tackle storage, layout, heating and the floor, of course.

Garage ceiling is 10’ plus for a lift, so we’re good there. I’m leaning towards a 4 post lift for storage. I need to grab a thermal imaging camera to find the radiant tubing in the slab before we drill holes and get an unwanted sprinkler system lol

Hopefully at least a few inches over 10'. Mine is exactly 10 and cutting it so close I opted against it. But still doable. Couple inches would have made all the difference.

Still cutting it super close. Will be interesting to see once you get ready to find a lift and start doing true measurements. But definitely doable.

I did epoxy in white/baby blue, and LOVE IT.

it's SUPER HARD to find small dropped screws though.

I could not live without epoxy now. if you spill something, put a rag on it, or dish detergent & a rag, and it wipes right up with your foot.

i keep old cardboard boxes to put on the floor if there will be a huge liquid mess ( oil or ATF) because the epoxy is SLIPPERY on those.

side note: If you look at my wire racks, they are "bridged" they come with 6 shelves, which is too many shelves to have any height, so buy two sets, and put the extra shelves in between.
it's neat, because they stay alinged & look good, and you get four extra feet of storage, HTH? the Walmart version comes with "shelf liners" to make them usable for small stuff

I did polyaspartic flooring at my last garage so I’m well versed on flooring. Now I just need to get this garage up to that level.

I remember your advice when I was asking about it.

Poly over Epoxy all day long as you know. I'm absolutely loving mine.

Absolutely!

I’m debating flow-through RaceDeck tiles too since my garage has floor drains in it (probably not legal these days lol). Plus the floor is done in one day with no smell.

You won't be able to use jack stands on RaceDeck tiles (they'll crack), unless you put a board underneath them or they have very large flat feet to spread out the load. However, this may not matter at all if you install 2 or 4-post lifts
