![]() I wouldn't worry about the wheel widths that much especially on tires like Bridgestone RE71R, R888 or NT01s since they already have stiff sidewalls. I know it may not be the ultimate size of wheels for those tires and can use a little bit of stretch but fitting 11" wheels up front and gaining a bit more weight are also need to be considered. For the reference, going with .5" wider wheels only means .2" additional section width and that's on 6" wheel the gain might be even smaller on a wider wheel. For tires with softer sidewalls (Trofeo Rs..for instance), however, may benefit more from the wheel width In other words, the feel of the steering wheel might be slightly better but it doesn't necessarily translate to faster lap times. It may not be any faster, or really make a difference at all. But if it does improve the steering feel then that would be worth it in my mind. Too bad there isn't a solid tire that comes in 295/305. Not interested in r888r, and I'm not willing to run R7's yet.

Why not R888r? I hated R888, but I'm open to R888R. I've had friends run them and liked them. Haven't sampled myself yet.

I saved your video to my favorites so I can study it lol. Not too often we'll be able to find good in-car footage of an instructor level person piloting one of our cars. I am absolutely floored what this car can do in stock form. After the rain delay we had yesterday, they did "open track" the rest of the afternoon for some seriously wet laps. I may or may not have been out there for 50+ mins straight (with a 5 min delay to retrieve a car) lol. Low fuel warning sent me in for day. I went through an entire tank of gas after lunch.

From what I hear it's really no different except for a different tread look.

![]() They're slightly more expensive than the Cup2s on 305/30/19 ($320 vs $360) so it'll be a tough choice next time. I've never ran with Cup2s personally but I see mixed reviews. It sounds like they're only good when they're fully warmed but for only a few laps. The fact that they weigh about 6 lbs less than the equivalent tires is also tempting (26lbs vs 32lbs)

They don't last nearly as long. Fellow track guy in his Zo6 had cup2's and they lasted a day and a half. The issue with the Toyo's is the compound and carcass though, R888's were still funky even when we shaved em to 3/32nds.

hmm very interesting, they were worn out on the outer edges maybe? I wonder what kind of camber and pressures he ran. I heard that they're very sensitive to pressures and should never be overheated but with correct pressures they last about 4-5 events. It's really bad that we don't have so many sizes available on real R comps :/ we miss all the good/affordable options (Hankook Z214/TD, Toyo RRs, ..etc) on 19 and 20" sizes

Track day at Laguna Sunday 6/18
For anyone wondering, Track mode sound hit 95.4db so spent most of the day poking along in 4th gear past the sound tower. Other than that, it was a really fun day. The car is incredible.
Thank God for traction control, but I think it's a little too intrusive. I guess best to err on the side of safety. Last PDR session is here: https://youtu.be/jX9hx4NRAoM |

The traction/stability control was intrusive because you just had the car in Track mode and didn't have any of the PTM modes engaged. Once you put the car in Track, then push the TC button twice to bring up the PTM modes (Wet, Dry, Sport 1, Sport 2, Race). Each mode progressively dials back the stability control to allow the car more power and yaw.
