Looking at this picture I have to say I think people are wrong about the hash marks. They do not come far enough up onto the hood/fender to be seen by the driver. So there is no way they are being used to indicate to the driver the centerline of the front tires. I have no suggestions for their intent other than to troll us and make sure we know there are several cars running.

It's a Dingledarm. It's there to dampen side fumbling. If your marzelvanes fumble too much they can cause total protonic reversal. It gets ugly from there. This is really the biggest problem with the new Camaro. That and the tri-pronged blivot.

Well I'll be...
I was staring at these mages instead of working. That's when I noticed there is a badge in the lower grill. If someone has the higher res versions of these photos, you may be able to make out the lettering

BTW Road and Track got 0-60 in 3.5 and qtr mile in 11.6 for the 4128lb CTS-V (with LT4 down 10hp from C7). Top speed 200mph.
