I have no suggestions for their intent other than to troll us and make sure we know there are several cars running.

Well I'll be...

I was staring at these mages instead of working. That's when I noticed there is a badge in the lower grill. If someone has the higher res versions of these photos, you may be able to make out the lettering

I disagree. The driver should have no problem seeing them.

There is a ridge that runs around the hood. Hard to see if you don't zoom in on the picture. the hash marks do not come above it. So while there is a slim chance on the driver side, there is 0 chance for the passenger side. And you can barely see the driver side in this picture which is about the same angle as the drivers view out in relation to the hood to fender angle

BTW Road and Track got 0-60 in 3.5 and qtr mile in 11.6 for the 4128lb CTS-V (with LT4 down 10hp from C7). Top speed 200mph.

The history of hashtags are nothing more than indicators for the what car it is. Pit crews would but diffrent colour hash tags on there cars in british racing series to identify them as they come into the pits. All the cars would look the same at first glance. Same idea here I think. Fitting for a race track I think...

I tend to agree. But since these are not in competition, I would bet GM knew there would be spy shots and wanted to increase the buzz about the cars being run. And since we are discussing it, I would say the free publicity stunt has worked.

Here's super closeups and brightened look at the covered badge. They did a good job with it, you can't tell the lettering underneath :(

Those new pictures definitely make it look as though it's hiding a supercharger under there.
