Are you speaking to the dealer or a GM Field Engineer? The GM Field Engineers are the ones who got the data box for me when I was having an issue. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Finally got back from a deployment and able to put some miles on the car. There is DEFINITELY an issue. I noticed the wheel slip indicator shoot to red several times and a very noticeable drop in power upon rolling away from a stop. I'm getting used to feathering the clutch or almost double-clutching it but this is absolutely something that isn't normal.

I went ahead and had a buddy who tunes locally with HPtuners tweak my car. He raised the rpm of the torque management and other nannies. I had him leave the fuel and timing alone. The bog is gone and it absolutely leaves a lot harder now even at lower RPMs compared to the stock settings.

Is this possibly why they're pushing 1LE production dates back?

This sounds like the best workaround yet for the drag strip, provided you don't mind voiding the warranty. However, if you just raise the overall torque management setting this might have undesirable results on a road course. It could, for example, allow excessive wheel slip in more restrictive TPM modes causing you to spin-out coming out of a turn when you expect the nannies to kick-in. I wonder if there's a way to raise allowed RPM only from launch (1st gear, no wheel movement). Still, you have to be willing to void the powertrain warranty.

GM reached out to me this morning for my availability in the coming weeks for the Control Tec install.

Sounds like we're getting close.

Thanks Travis, hopefully they get it installed and a rework of the tune is in order shortly. Good luck to us all every video I see the ZL1 is stumbling out of the hole with drastic power cut .

Looking forward to see how this plays out as well. The bog on mine is terrible as well....I would go as far as saying it's pretty pathetic.

And like others, I have no interest in tuning it out and risking the powertrain warranty.....REALLY hoping GM can verify there's and issue and come up with a computer reflash as a fix.

I signed the consent paperwork from GM this morning. I don't know if this means anything or not, but in the field "Reason Device is Installed:" it says "Vehicle launch / wheel slip".

Glad I found this thread, thanks Travis.

I just got the car two days ago and obviously haven't launched hard, but just wanted to chime in and say its also pretty tricky to modulate it off of a stop light. Its either slipping a bit more than Id like or bogging if I go light to normal on the throttle. FWIW, Ive driven manual sports cars for 30yrs, and my previous two cars were a 2016 2SS camaro and 2015 c7 z51 - no issues there at all.

It seems to me like something software-related is interfering. I took some video too - I cant post if you want, but I spike to about 30% on the eLSD screen. I'm hoping this can be solved with a software update.

Have any convertible owners chimed in yet? They have no eLSD.

The problem isn't really related to the eLSD as the misnamed thread would lead you to believe. (I thought it was related to the eLSD at the time the thread was created.)

It's the overaggressive response to wheel slip (at very low speeds) that seems to be causing the issue.

Dude! Thanks for all your work on this. Just finished a 1000km road trip in my convertible M6 and it would be good to have this addressed by GM. A buddy drove the car and stalled it immediately while trying to pull out. It's a clutch slipping art to launch smoothly. I'll keep checking in on this one and make a service report with the dealership too. I'm sure they watch these channels internally for people having issues.

Who is reporting no issues in the poll? I am skeptical people aren't having this issue on a M6 ZL1.
