The one you posted doesn't have the ring gear so add that cost since yours won't be reusable.

The ones that get stolen and parted out around here usually end up with the rear subframe on marketplace for pretty cheap. They are priced in a way you could sell the rear brakes and recoup your money.

Get cheap endoscope camera for your phone and go in the fill hole and inspect everything. If it looks pretty good then make it something to worry about later. And just keep an eye out for a good deal.

I feel like it's a combination of stolen cars and people that are out for repo. They just pull the parts off and sell them for anything, they really have nothing to lose

I have a 2017 2ss with regular limited slip and rear diff cooler. I don't know if all 2ss had the diff cooler.

All SS cars had the diff cooler, both “regular” and 1LE cars.

Convertible SS cars don’t have a diff cooler. I imagine the LT1 convertibles don’t either, but have never looked to see. Convertible ZL1s get the SS diff with cooler because the eLSD doesn’t fit.

Sorry, I always forget the convertible guys. All COUPE SS cars had the diff cooler.

@Mech5136,
I'll be pulling my differential out next week (7-10 MAR 26).
It has 45K miles and no issues.
I'm installing a nine-inch differential.
PM me if you're interested.
