Have to see what can be done here in commiefornia legally.
The ZL1 would've been a better base to build off of, but you still have options. Many, in fact. I started with a stock SS as well, and added power in stages so I can enjoy each "step up" almost like it's a new car in some ways.

It's now perfect as it is (check my signature for details), I have no desire for any more power, and it has everything set up the way I want, with none of the unconfigurable ZL1 features I didn't like.

The one caveat is resale value, the ZL1 will always retain its original price premium vs the SS in sales, because it's the forever top trim, there will be no Z/28. That ship has sailed anyway for you, though, you have an SS that won't sell at a good price anyway, so you might as well mod it

Hey! I do remember! I was actually wondering the other day if you still had your car, glad to hear you do!

In hindsight, I kinda wish I got the ZL-1 as well but the SS is such an iconic model with the long history, still very happy to have it! I'm happy with the power of the SS, always could use more but not sure how much I could use it as I don't track the car.

Do you ever go to any cars & coffee's in the area? I used to go to the Sunday morning one in Escondido but haven't been in a long time.

I have been remodeling my house for the last 4 years straight since I retired, so did not drive it much. The car was my retirement present to myself. Done now so hopefully get some more time in. But my other passion is building guitars and playing some . Got 2 grandsons and a brother son to get Telecaster built for now. So plan on driving more starting in spring. Traffic does suck here in SOCAL. That 650hp just has a good ring to it, than the 455hp. I never drove a supercharger car so can't really compare it, but always want more power right. Just have these thoughts of having it built new engine etc, all the bells and whistles etc like I see on lots of YouTube speedshops. I like to drive it in the twisty, winding roads, cause of the 3 pedal setup. Freeways, every time I get some fool wants race, and gotta resist getting in trouble. Haaahhha. Glad you still have yours, and love it. Don't plan on selling mine ever. My plate is SIK2020 (speed is king). Funny I have had some asshat ask my at a gas station if it was making fun of covid. I said look at my sticker it says JAN on the tag. And China flu didn't hit till March! Haha!
