Drone can be a subjective sound that people mistake for the sound of it that they think is objectionable at off idle to 1500rpm-ish when real drone is a sound frequency that resonates in the cabin and can, if it's bad enough give you a monster headache.

If that thing has a midpipe resonator then that's probably good to tame any drone but the axle back by itself is gonna drone.

Whether that sounds good to you or isn't bothersome to you, is completely up to you. But it's a known droner and pretty much no one here talks about flowmaster anything.

I would do catted headers or catless with a resonated X section into the stock muffler. You won't get old school 5.0 sound out of these cars period.
My opinion/experience-

This is my first catted setup. In my opinion, 2" CSP/Kooks headers with the GESI UHO Gen2 cats and the stock catback sounds exactly like the stock header/cat setup sounded (minus the additional minor header noises that come along with headers).

I was disappointed that the sound level didn't increase over stock.

I really want a Corsa NPP, but man, you are right- the prices are nuts! Can't justify it. Will likely just fab something up with a muffler and a bypass. There was a video on YT of a guy who cut open his rattling Corsa NPP muffler when they sent him another one to replace it. The internals were surprisingly simple compared to some of their older designs. Shocking how much they charge for the dang thing.

I can guarantee you if my car droned with this system, my wife would NEVER want to ride in it...and I have about 10 other people(unfortunately not members on here) who have ridden in it and will testify it doesn't drone..I've been in Sport and Track mode with the cruise set at 45, 55, 65, and 75...as well as many WOT pulls or spirited driving pulls and ZERO drone. It sounds like its SUPPOSED to sound..aggressive and throaty when on throttle, but subtle when cruising. I don't care if no one talks about Flowmaster honestly... I'm just trying to provide HONEST feedback to those that ask or wonder about it. Aside from giving people rides, all I can do is explain it to the best of my ability based on my experience with it. I personally hate the crackly, raspy sound of the Borlas, Awe's and Corsa's, but hey, if that's everyone else's cup of tea, that's awesome and I'm happy THEY like it. It's also ok if YOU dont like Flowmaster...but dont bash on a system just because of the "name" ..especially if you dont have it on your car...how would you know if it drones or not? If you're ever up in the Omaha area, look me up and I'll prove to you THIS system doesn't drone by giving you a ride.

And what's worse, my Corsa Sport NPP exhaust had one exhaust tip that wasn't even welded on, it literally fell off into my hands as we were installing it and one of the other exhaust tips was welded slightly crooked. Not what you would expect for the price BUT it is a good exhaust QA issues aside.

Don't have a Flowmaster on my Camaro, but I put one on my truck. Sounds great!

No kidding. For that kind of money, you expect it to be flawless. I know there are always the ones that escape the factory, but having no weld/cold weld is a pretty big miss, as is a crooked tip for that price.

This is exactly why I have a low expectation of the Flowmaster setup for quality but as you all will learn, I am a fabricator and will not leave it stock! Their design is nearly identical to what I would have build anyways with the bullet muffler and a chambered one... the powdercoated black tips just makes it KILLER!!

I'm also going to thrash this car... its not a polished show queen, it gets driven hard like Stiffler's Mom. The cool thing... if I do not like it, I can cut those mufflers off and weld in some Magnaflows!

We used to take lacquer paint, go run the car hard and then mark a few inches behind the burn to install the H-Pipe crossover and that alone killed the drone, giving the exhaust a throaty sound.

Many people have ruined the sound of their GT350s adding headers and regretted it.
Yup that’s pretty much what I said, however it really was that combo of all the above that gave it that classic sound. You always knew when they had flowmasters. I don’t doubt at all that Ford spent quite some time engineering the stock headers to achieve the amazing sounds that the GT350’s produce.

That was the trick with open headers, you’d look for the burn mark on the collectors and cut the collectors at that point.

Wow throw back time, I built five different 406 small blocks for my ‘85 IROC. Never used flowmasters, but I built my very first set of headers for that final 406. Cars gone, still have the stock hood and those headers hanging in the attic.

lol, seriously though, those 90s mustangs + flowmasters was peak sound perfection. I had several and even though they were all super slow by today's standards, they all sounded amazing.

That was pretty much my setup (SLP shorties into a 3" exhaust). But that was also #Backintheday when true duals wasn't a thing. Even installing LT headers were dreaded...mostly cause the exhaust was going to be a hack job and hang WAY low.
