GM gives the dealers allocations each week and they assign your order to the allocation and it will move to status 2000. If an order is at 1000 or 1100 it's not assigned to an allocation.

I'd put a deposit on it when it hits 2000 accepted by GM status. But not before. And have a signed deal in your hand on pricing. If you got a 23 I'd be damn surprised at this point in the MY even more so a ZLE.

Will the OP respond to the members here who have offered help, or is this just a drive by thread where the OP doesn't give the forum an update or a thanks to those who have given suggestions and general good will help?

Put my 500 deposit down yesterday and well not feeling like this car will get built as they are already making excuses after seeing my build. I will give them a month and not a day more and get my deposit back, it just sucks spending over 80 grand on a car and having all this hassle. Color of the car was the first item up and told them I would go with red not radiant red I wanted orange.

will keep you updated
Mark

I would walk into the new car sales managers office and demand the event code. Make him look it up and tell you. If the event code is 1100 it means they do NOT have an allocation. I would then go off on them, being sure to express displeasure in being lied to. Then demand money back telling them what frauds they are.

I fecking dispise these dealers that do this. They tell you they have allocations, take your build and money, then you sit at 1100 for 6 months. I just had a dealer try to do this to me on a 1SS but after drilling the sale idiot they admitted that they didn't have an allocation but were "expecting" one soon and wanted my build info.so it would appear official. I told them to pound sand. I did find other dealers who were honest and said they didn't have an allocation but said I would be first in line, so there are good dealers out there, you just need to ask the right questions and follow up. Good luck.

Alternatively, you can the chat feature at the main Chevy site, but they tend not to give you specific order status codes, so it's harder to find out exactly where your car is in the process.
Don't meant to hijack this thread, but do these employees also do the same if you have an order number for a C8 ZO6?

Doesn’t GM put you in touch with a direct contact person when you order a vette?

I've ordered 4 Vettes in the last 8 years and they all had a 6 character order number just like any other Chevy order. The dealer and Chevy chat can look up the event code if that is what you guys are talking about (?)

Just didn't know how allocations work, say you wanted to order a new C8 ZO6 and you don't mind when you get it....not even sure if a small town dealer would even have an allocation available.....

Yeah, the dealership I contacted (albeit only 1 so far) here in SoCal had over 100 people on the list.....told me straight forward they were charging a 50K markup, I asked them what reason behind the markup if I'm 101 in line and won't get it for a few years...not sure they have answered yet.
