I knew this was gonna happen, it's always just a matter of time before certain people ruin the balance. I try to tell people not to be stooopid about these things, but that hardly works... sure, there's no emissions testing here in TN for the most part, but there's no reason to be a'holes and roll coal on the highway left and right...

OK all politics aside !

I was able to get my v5.0.4 to show the active exhaust items.

But when I try to use the older v4.x to read my vehicle. I get the other messages (screen shots) and not sure what solves that!

Lots of bad info here. You need to take the HPT training on the emissions stuff in order to unlock the emissions options in VCM editor.

Its a few minutes of work.

Yep, I did all that, took the tests for each chapter etc. I was able to get get my parameter code, and linked to my device. But I'm also having a small glitch that HPTuners support is trying to figure out with my licenses. They show all (7) credits on the website under my my account. But they are not syncing to my MPVi3 device.

There is no bad information here. 2 things are being discussed.

The Op needs to license the CCM in order to adjust the NPP exhaust valve settings. Turning off rumble mode will help some.

The crazy loud startup that turns into a cackling rage of nasty sound when you have cat less headers is due to the ECM pulling timing -15 degrees to heat the cats up faster. With no cats it sounds hideous... We used to be able to simply disable this feature by disabling the "cat warm up" enable/disable temps. That was phased out after version 4.1.7.

The next problem is the MPVI3 will not work on older firmware <5.0. So, he cannot adjust the catalyst warm up table with an older version. You need to have a MPVI 1 or 2 in order to run older firmware versions. Taking the training course will not solve that problem. The training course gives you access to the emission codes.

Imo it doesn't make a lick of sense to give us access to the emission code tables but no access to the cat warm up parameters.

That being said there are some workarounds. You can edit the minimum spark table in the idle areas. This will keep the ECU from running negative timing on start up. You can also go in and edit the virtual torque tables. This will all help that nasty cold start sound.

This is why I never updated my MPVI 1. I may end up buying a MPVI 3 for future use on other cars but my MPVI 1 "ain't going nowhere"!

My mistake about the bad info here. Yes I was just referring to opening up the emissions parameters access that was taken away in 5.x.x.

The CCM access is separate from the PCM and so on as discussed. Carry on.

KingLT1 ! Thanks - you summed that up pretty good ! Yeah I think I creeped on my own post ! My BAD ! Your info makes sense for the old version not working with my MPVi3 etc. and the other info as well! Also, thanks for the PM ShockingZ what confirms what I was trying to do as well!!!

I'm not sure which CCM model the new cars use, but if it's the C304a, it's 3 more credits to tune your exhaust.
Check out this timely update. You can tune a T93 now:
