You don't need brake cooling ducts on a ZLE, I drive mine hard on CA tracks in 95+ degree weather and the brakes with only stock pads and DOT 4 (Castrol SRF or Brembo Racing) are one of the most capable features of this car. In ~25 track days they have never faded, I did upgrade to SS brake lines I recommend this but not needed for your first days.

No I agree you don't but he has a ZLE so that's why I specified that. ZLE has brake cooling blade things on front suspension arms IIRC, if so assume regular ZLE dues too. Brakes would be fine without those.

It may be excessive but it's because they want to make sure that any of the metal shavings that are floating around aren't there anymore to potentially cause damage.
