You should be fine with an extra 5 gallons on an SS. ZL1, you will need at least 10. With my mods, I can do four 20 minute sessions with an extra 10 gallons. I arrive at the track completely full up though.

(7) gal every 30 min on track for me; trip ODO usually gives me ~3.7-4.2MPG. That’s basically on track for the 5gal/20min figures others have posted. Note the A10’s are slightly worse. Having had both, the A10 couldn’t do a full hour session on a single tank; M6 will make it with 1/8 or less remaining.
Disclaimer: running in the southern tracks most of the time, and it’s my firm belief these motors run rich when it’s hot as a way of keeping heat in check.

I get just shy of 1/4 tank per 20min session. I can run 4 sessions on a full tank, but the gas light will probably end my last session early. I got 6 sessions in with an extra 10 gallons a couple weeks ago. I probably could gotten another half a session in with what was left, but didn't want to push it(or get it pushed off the track!)
In other words, you'll probably be fine with an additional 5 gallons. |

I would bring 10 gallons. I will average 5-25 minute track sessions per day and I drive the car VERY hard and as noted the A10 will use more fuel because generally you be taching 5500-6000 RPM in TRACK MODE in the corners. BUT...if you are running 93, the suggestion to leave after a track session to fill up is a great one. Problem is if you run the DRIVERS EDGE events, you will have to miss a classroom session to do so because of TIGHT scheduling which I HATE by the way!!

When I was running E85 tune on a SS1LE I was using between a Quarter to A Quarter and a HALF tank PER Session. E85 burns 30% faster than 93.

My experience is that I would take 3/4 tank of gas on the gauge to a half-day open lapping event(3 20-minute sessions). Ended up with about 1/4 tank on the gauge after.
For a full day, I would try to start out with a full tank, but I will need gas if I were to use up all 6 sessions. As others mentioned, you can just get gas in between sessions or during lunch break. Each track is different, though. If it's not anything competitive, just lean on the safe side and start with a full tank. I personally wouldn't run it below 1/4 tank on the gauge, definitely not 1/8 tank on the gauge just to avoid any potential fuel starvation. This is especially critical for boosted guys.

I must drive like a ass on track, I am almost using a half tank per session with my ZL1 1LE. I will have like an 1/8 or 1/4 at best after 2 sessions. Luckily both of my local tracks have fuel pumps at the track in both 91 and 100 octane flavors.

It all depends on a venue and how long one ends up at WOT. I usually bring 3x5+ gallon cans that fit perfectly side by each at the back of a trunk. But like I said: it depends.
Also, it depends if one has time to go off site to get gas, as some events run classes immediately following on track sessions, so the only spare time is lunch time. Cheers! |

Definitely this. I can get about 3 sessions starting on full before having to fill up. Expect to run about 1.5 tanks per day. Best to top off at the lunch break each day.

Thanks everyone for the responses, event is at PBIR in Florida so it is pretty isolated and because of vivid they are not doing lunch just running straight through. So sounds like I need 10 extra to be safe.
