I can't believe this sort of behavior. I'm so sorry that this happens to anyone.

I don't understand why people leave their car behind and flee the scene...cars are registered people!!!!

Sorry to hear about Corban though...

Well, in Pa if you leave the seen, they catch up with you the next day and you only get nailed for that. They can't prove the drunk driving because it's out of your system by the time they find you or at least that's what the a-holes think.

that's horrible. though I heard about this one chick that got pulled over, was intoxicated, but argued with the officer long enough that she was within legal limits by the time they finally breathalyzed her.

Uh, such terrible people we live with...the story about the woman and her child being hit really hit me...

As an update from my sister regarding Corban:

They unplugged her last night...her organs are going to be donated now...

It worked for Ted Kennedy.

However, laws thankfully are tougher now on people who leave the scene of accidents where they injure or kill people.

In November pro boxer Francisco "Paco" Rodriguez died in the ring and his donated organs saved at least 8 people. Not much consolation, but at least some good can come of this.

That is so sad.....

I have a co-worker who was involved in a drunk driving accident. I'm glad nobody was hurt in it. But his attitude about it is just amazingly selfish and stupid. He was telling me "people get tired and fall asleep behind the wheel all the time when not drinking" as if it excused the fact that he fell asleep while driving drunk.... people need to take some accountability.

Sadly, I can tell he's an alcoholic. He drinks almost daily and more than anybody I know. He's going to drive drunk again as soon as he gets his license back...
