You may not have as much torque on the low end but a good tuner can make changes to help that with some more timing down low. On the street torque can sometimes be a pain as it has a tendency to cause the tires to spin much easier. I'm still going with a ported MSD on my C7 and I just add some timing from 1000 to 4000 rpms to bring back some low end power.

I'm assuming the bold lines are MSD? So about 14 hp at 6225. Nice gain.

i will add that my car picked up 19 whp going from a ported LT1 intake to an unported msd + stock lt5 tb. haven't dynoed (and probably won't) since adding the ported msd.

People saying lt1 or lt2 for bolt on cars but the fastest bolt on cars are on ported MSD's and high rams.

Some of those fast bolt on cars have been put on a diet so that helps. For someone not looking to break the bank you can't beat the price of the Lt2 ported manifold for just a bolt on car. You also gotta remember the Lt2 is relatively new compared to the other offerings so it was either a ported Lt1 or the MSD in the beginning unless you were comfortable with buying a new hood or cutting your existing hood.

the factory LT1 intake is junk. i would at least do an LT2. none of the better intake manifolds will amount to much if one is not willing to rev the engine. i try to shift my bolt car around 6800. it's often up against the 6900 limiter, tho.

Saw some chatter that the stock or especially ported MSD is still better than a ported LT2. High ram requires cosmetic commitment but markedly better from what I read

But what a ported MSD cost vs a ported LT2 IM is 5-10 hp really worth it?

there are a lot of other mods that beg the same question. people are still buying long tubes and rotofabs for bolt on cars..

Do you need a tune for ported LT1 or LT2 or MSd for that matter?
