Like anything, balance is the key to making power. I was fortunate enough to have an LT1 on the engine dyno (right beside the chassis dyno) to work with since 2015 so there aren't many aspects of the GM DI engines that I haven't explored. With the final tune in the car the 3 back to back pulls were 600, 601, and 598, so I'm rounding up slightly with the 600 claim (3 run average is 599.67 RWHP) and I will say that was pushed to the absolute limit. Now, how many pulls did it took to get that tune? I'm afraid to look - I'm sure it was quite a few - but it's what I like to do. With the canned Magnuson tune I'd expect about 585-590 RWHP (I honestly don't know what tune they are shipping). Dropping about 10hp off the limit gives a bit of margin for variances. Make no mistake though, it is a serious blower, very efficient with really good performing inter-coolers. Don't know of much of anything our there that can run with these. |

Its not just how much it makes stock but later down the road if you decide to make some killer power the 2650 is capable of exceptional HP levels. Multiple guys have made in excess of 1100 rwhp. Obviously the fuel system is very expensive to make that power. Mine made 850 plus just on the Lt4 fuel system but we just couldn't go beyond that because of the low side. Mike (toohighpsi)tuned it to those levels to run 9.41@146. We could have run much faster but couldn't get the tune right before it broke the snout on the crank so that ended my quest to run faster last year. However, we did run 5.99@119 spinning the tires so wish that could have continued into a 1/4 mile pass but I was qualifying for a race and the clocks shut off after the 1/8 mile. Mike was talking about me when he said Greg as some may not know who I am other then Laynlo15.

Mike and Greg, it's great that you guys are still helping folks with all things Magnuson. I'm sure you are both missed back at the company.

This new LT1 platform car is just the right starting point for a built like this, interested to see the results.

That's for sure, light weight (3400 lbs) and same good parts as an SS plus its under 35,000 bucks. I don't know if they miss us or not but I'm still a Maggie fan with plenty of knowledge to help someone in need of information.
