I would be good with that. Even wear. Here is what my front tires look like after 500 miles and 3 track days. Definitely need to dial down the camber it looks like. Here is my current alignment set up which is Chevy recommendations. See anything I'm missing other than the Chevy recommendation is too aggressive if you drive your car to and from the track and don't trailer it? My back tires are wearing perfect.

Joe,
I’m kinda in the same boat... new ILE , no trailer, and have to drive to/from track...I’m considering using a standard camber setup to save some tire weapon the 3r’s......maybe cost me a second on a lap, and lose a little tun-in response, but not gonna’ get a call from Roger Penske anyway...

OP just FYI, Goodyear now makes the standard SC3 tires in ZLE sizes. They are a great option if you want to keep most of the benefits of the GY's (since they were made specifically for these cars) but get better life. I get about 8K miles on the rears and about 12K on the fronts with spirited street driving on my SS 1LE.

A lot of peeps like to swap out for the PS4, but I don't get that. IMO, why buy a car with the capabilities of the ZLE and then put a tire with quite a bit less dry grip on it. I guess it make sense if you will be driving it in the rain all the time, but from a performance application standpoint, it is too much of a compromise tire. The sidewalls aren't as crisp either, so you loose initial bite and directness.

Agreed BUT.... my 1LE is a driver also.... I really scared myself driving in moderate rain on the 3r’s...hydroplaning speed was around 40 mph... very wet, but not standing water...could never take a trip with 3r’s if rain was in the forecast... way too big a risk for me..ymmv !

Bill G

My guess is you’ll see many whom went mp4s(i did) will soon be trying the standard SC3 if it can remotely handle just a slight bit more water the the 3R

Yeah, I think so too.

Regarding the SC3 in the wet, as long as you keep speeds down, I can manage 60-70 MPH with good tread depth and after the wear bars I am ok up to about 40 MPH. If you know the limits and stay within those parameters, you will be fine.

For me the slightly lower speeds are acceptable to keep the grip and sharpness levels the OEM GY's provide when not in the rain.

Obviously the SC3r are more compromised and even when new they look used and I wouldn't want to daily them, but the standard SC3 do just fine if you stay sane when in the wet.

What alignment settings are you running? That's really nice even tire wear.

Also, do you tow to the track or drive to the track?

Best regards,
Dave

So if you guys are barely getting 5k on the street with these, how many track days are you getting? 1-2? I'm thinking about getting a set now that they make 20's.

I am getting the Hankook Ventus V12's, I will go get the back tires tomorrow morning up in Shreveport and will be waiting for the fronts to come in (Amazon was the cheapest) so I will put away the GYEF13R until needed or if and when I get a second set of wheels.

That is good to know, thanks. Just kinda working in the rain would be great in comparison to the 3R lol. The SC3 will be my next tire to try as i don’t have a second set of wheels for the track and love driving to work when it’s nice...i need the best compromise tire i can find.

Trailered car running -3* front and -2.2* rear, but I will flip mount my tires multiple times to keep super even wear.

You have flipped 3Rs have you noticed differences in handling with having the outside shoulder on the inside?
