we are just curious how you didn't run out of fuel, as this is most certainly some nice gains man!

I'd much rather run e85 than install headers, pulley, etc. And i want to tune so i can get rid of that annoying dead spot/bog.

Just show people another route as you did.. if ya need it spelled out 200 miles on e85 vs 360 on 93 atleast that's what the computer reads after a fill up. The pulley route you will get a better sounding exhaust doing the headers.

You can also get the same power doing a 103mm TB and very good blower porting and headers and not even mess with pulley swaps.

At your power level I dont think the price of fuel justifies the gains so there!

For the money you spent.. that's good power! Great Job!

If you do not do any other mods it should squeak by on e85.. once you do a pulley swap or headers.. now you mixing 93 and e85 and will be in the e60 range.

If you do the LPE 1500.00 pump and aux DSX you will probably squeak out a pulley swap or headers atleast that's what forum member posted.

More Explanantion

At the 647 RWHP level, the car is still operating on the STOCK fuel system. I was told however that is about MAXED out using the stock injectors and fuel pumps when using E85. Any other increase in power would necessitate an upgrade in the fuel system. Fuel system upgrades would probably go the route of the DSX system. I had a TRIPLE FORE system on my 2010 SS LS3 Camaro that made about 1000 RWHP with an F1R. That car however was living on the edge with the stock bottom end and eventually broke the crank through one of the journals. I used that particular car as a daily driver for about 12 months.

Next logical mod , fuel upgrades notwithstanding would be a ported snout and blower (30 HP increase) and pulley upgrades for more boost. Would need the cam upgrade as well to get the bigger fuel lobe as well.

TCM

YES it was tweaked as well (SEE below post I found out afterwards that the TCM was not tuned) . Basically the car makes the same RWHP as a stock ZR1 (untuned of course). There is roughly a 300 pound weight difference in the corvettes favor.

A stock hellcat and this ZL1 would be a good race in a straight line but this car can actually go around a corner as well.

I stand corrected on this, the TCM was left stock and NOT TUNED. My bad. SAM also indicated to me that this car was NOT maxed out on its fuel system yet. I guess I will leave that to the experts that work on these things on a DAILY basis.

MISC

No problem. I was reminded that about 90% of the things posted on the internet are wrong even from people that had the best of intentions (lol).

Bryan at AMP mentioned to me that from driving impressions standpoint that he felt like the Zl1 1LE has slightly more body roll than the ZR1 (they have both) He was able to pull a 1.2 G on the Zl1 . He also felt like the ZL1 takes a little bit less effort to drive especially for a non-expert driver. Will know more as we autocross and do some road courses with the Zl1. Just as a precaution SAM confirmed that tires on the Zl1 are not particularly happy in wet conditions which I think most of us were aware of anyway.

Would you mind giving an update on how you’re feeling about your mods and the shops job of the tune? I’m in Dallas and am curious how it’s been this far

Thanks

Very happy with the car. It is extremely responsive. I got 16 mpg with it on a trip and I was absolutely hauling ass with it so that’s way more than I expected.
