Actually I had a brand new 1/2 inch torque wrench that was way off first time I went to use it. I was installing a harmonic balancer bolt on a stroker motor I had just built. I could tell something wasn’t right. I borrowed my neighbours torque wrench and sure as shit I was over the torque spec and by that time the bolt was F’ed up.
I gave the T-wrench back to my MAC tools guy and told him to have it checked. It was literally my first time using it. Sure as shit. It was off.
You never know sometimes. I was just glad I didn’t build the rest of the engine with it. Thank god
That shit is scary ! I got my torque wrenches from Lowe’s and Sears.
Is there somewhere you can go to get them recalibrated?

Specialty tool shops should be able to have it done. Or ask a local machine/tool and die shop where they get theirs done.
Do a google search on tool shops in your area. Not big box stores you have to find places that deal with tools that are more specialized for given trades.
Or, if you have any friends that deal with Snap On, Mac or Matco tools then next of those friends could likely get that tool guy to hook you up with a shop or possibly get it done for you.
I can’t remember the cost but if you are dealing in components like on engines, in my eyes it’s worth it.

How come this isn’t more prevalent ?!? That’s a hell of an idea, renting access for 30 days.
Thank you for posting that.

OP good luck with the bolt dude. I would have punched myself in the face after throwing up if I snapped one of those suckers too
When you first log in it looks a little empty, remember they have a bunch of sections, what key is, the repair procedures and service manual in 2 different sections. Plus TSBs and campaigns! cant beat the price. Also cool is if you buy it again a month later, it uses our old email and password again, no waiting!!

Looks like repair procedures might not be official but looks good. Service manual looks like OEM. If someone has a service manual let's compare a page or 2.

I’m gonna see if I can track down one of the local big-name tool truck guys and ask them. Local machine shops are a great suggestion. Thank you.

That’s such a great find !!!

Especially if they are the official GM manuals (which I doubt they are).
