I got kooks 1 7/8" long tubes and took them to my local powder coat shop that also does ceramic coatings. $325 for the headers and cats, standard polish coating. Installing next week, will post up impressions after install

My car spends a decent amount of time up on the lift since my OCD for keeping it clean won’t let off. Most of my vehicles get detailed on the underside as well as the usual top side.
Your attention to detail and the ceramic coating of the exhaust make my OCD very happy. Well done on the build!

I sent my ARH headers to Swaintech and they work amazingly. Swaintech is more of a performance mod then a visual one. It doesn't look at clean as Jet coat but they work in lowering temperature alot better.

I'm not against it. I just never done it on any car I've owned. I DD all my vehicles and even with the cheap systems my LTs have lasted longer than I've owned the cars they were on. On of which was over 5 years/30K miles. And I've never had any crazy under hood heat even in 100+ degree summers. At least not that had any great impact more than normal or to be reasonably expected. I personally do not think it is necessary. Does it help? Sure. Do the effects outweigh the cost? Debatable. Does it look really cool? Hell yea. Will your car be in a position often enough to admire how it looks? Nope. It might be of some benefit on the track for sure. If you feel it is worth it then go for it. But I do not consider this to be anything that is needed for normal or spirited DD/strip use.

Depends on how you store your car. Lol!

Don’t mind the messy garage. House is under construction at the moment and things are out of sort.

Nice. Any details about your classic ride?

I have the Jet-Hot 2400 Ultra coating on my Kooks 2" headers and I think its worth it. The headers are just warm after driving the car, it reduces underhood temps much more than uncoated headers.

Can you get headers coated after the fact? After they have been installed for a few months?

I would think you can, they would likely just do a minor cleanup on the surface.

I had my new ARHs ceramic coated before they were shipped to me. Came out looking almost as good as chrome. Under hood heat is dramatically reduced. Well worth the extra coin.

My buddy will be doing temp tests for his stock manifolds and with coated headers soon for some actual data. Makes me laugh when folks say it doesnt change temps much.

People who haven’t used ceramic coating will be surprised. You can touch the pipes without getting burned, just a couple of minutes after shut down. Can’t do that with uncoated.

Agreed, I wouldn't leave my hand on them but you can touch them quickly without burning.
