The only issue with that is that if you want to use the lift points to put the car on jack stands, you still need to jack from somewhere else.

that same issue exists when using mag pad and pucks.

I use a mag pad to jack up one side of the car, using the cutout in the rocker just behind the front most cutout as the jacking location. I then put the jack stands under the front and rear ZL1 Addons lift points on that side. I then do the same thing on the other side of the car. I use the 3 Ton Esco brand jack stands with the large rubber saddles (22% off on Amazon in Canada right now). They're the only type of jack stand I really feel safe resting those ZL1 Addons lift points on.

I replace my wheels almost every week or so in summer due to racing. Never had an issue with the ZL1addon jack pads. However, I do have to take care that the jack is squarely on the jack pad. A few times, I noticed the jack was a little off with the jack pad lip catching the jack pad wrong. Even a little jacking had it slipping. Having no issues means that I have to get on my knees and look, but never a problem when I do take that precaution.

So 3 days went by and ZL1 addons did not respond to my initial email. I emailed them again and got the following response:

Quote:
Yes we received it. We have not had an issue with the mag-pads and we are unsure on how it slipped outwards.. Was it lifted high or too much of an angle?
Here is my response:

Just high enough to get my rear wheel off so I could install the rock guard, so not too high, and on level ground.

In this thread, there are at least 3 people who reported the same thing happening.
https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=532333

I would like to return the jack pad and puck, and I certainly would appreciate a complimentary set of 4 of the bolt on lift pads (which look like a much better solution) as compensation for the damage.

Thanks for your time, and for making these products. I love the rock guards.
Will update when I hear from them.

The head is small enough to fit up in the body and it has grooves to locate on the pinch weld.

Damn,, why didn't I catch this?

The saddle on my floor jack is under 4".

Why did I purchase these pucks?
Lick and Stick with just my floor jack on the pinch.

My take on this?
You should not be lifting the car from one pinch weld at one corner only.
There is way to much weight and stress.
Two jacks at the same time. Front or rear L&R. ( That's probably pushing it as well)

The cutouts in our rockers accessing the pinch welds are for dealerships to use while lifting with a four point lift only. Distributing the weight at all four corners.

I have the permanent ZL1 addon jack points installed and I have a good quality 3 ton floor jack. I’m trying to figure out a jack stand solution which would work on both the available pinch weld points and with the addon points as I can lift the rear up all at once from the middle point between the mufflers.

I have a screw jack that works great on the pinch weld. I’m thinking about getting another and using them as jack stands. I just need to figure out some kind of rubber pad to stabilize it on the addon points.

On my set (pads and pucks)... larger for the front and shorter for the rear, in the channel outer walls I added a thin layer of adhesive corkpad.... When the pad/puck goes up the pinch weld metal is about dead center over the two magnets.

Honestly though, that channel should be 1/3rd less the size to accommodate 2 or 3 layers of material. They are way to wide as-is.

My solution for a screw jack fitting a ZL1 bolt on jack pad. Also tacked on 22mm nut. same as lug nuts.

I was thinking about doing something along those lines, but I want to be able to switch between a saddle for the lift point and the existing one that works nicely on the pinch weld. So I’ll machine something similar which slides into the existing saddle.

Nothing gives me more anxiety than jacking this car up. I've had mine do the exact same thing twice and have finally found a great solution.

These line right up on the pinch weld and wide enough on either side of the pinch weld to support more of the frame for a solid feeling as you jack the car up.

FYI, i had same issue as OP using this type of puck.

I think car manufacturers are making it harder and harder for us to jack up our cars on purpose. It shouldn't be this ****ing hard and cause this much anxiety whenever we need to life the car.
