This is not the optimal place to move this thread. If they wanted to move it, it should have been moved to the suspension section. But here we are.

Your above replies were along the same logic I came to. It is expensive, but it should save me from buying some suspension parts if it works out. Time will tell.

Would a dealer have any way of seeing this product was used in the event something needed to be replaced under warranty if I replace it with the factory controller before bringing it in for service?

I don't want to make any guarantees on that. My best information on this comes from the Porsche world. A good friend of DSC that ran a race tech program through a dealership told me that if they dug deep enough (deeper than they would on a routine service) that they can see the PASM controller was removed at one point, but they could not see anything else was put in place of it.

Lesson 110 - "Checking & Updating Firmware"

In this week's lesson, we walk you through how to check and update your firmware version for your DSC Sport controller.

OVERVIEW:

1. Unplug DSC from vehicle, or make sure you leave vehicle ignition off for entire firmware update process.

2. Download DSC Sport Utility

3. Download Firmware file for your vehicle

4. Save your current .pdts file if you wish to continue using it after you update your firmware.

5. Open DSC Utility, browse for firmware file, check "Firmware and EEprom, and click "Install"

6. Unplug DSC controller from power

7. Plug controller back in, open saved .pdts file, and write to controller if desired.

Finally did the install yesterday and did a write up on the experience here.

One thing I couldn't make happen was connecting to the WiFi. I was able to connect, but all I got was the flapping "P". I did the down load for the WiFi connection, but your video wasn't clear on what to do with the downloads. Any suggestions?

Thanks for sharing your experience!

The Wi-Fi isn't actually necessary on your controller (this was for controllers sent out before 1-11-17 I believe. I'll have to double check on this and make it more clear on the website.)

What were you using for a browser? You must use Chrome or Firefox.

Ah, that must be my problem. I was trying to use Explorer. I'll load up Chrome and give it another try.

I do have the USB cable routed into the cabin, so I really don't need the WiFi. But I could see using it in the future with a tablet when my laptop dies.

And I do want to confirm that even though the firmware is listed for a 1LE, it's fine for a regular SS. Correct?

Correct. Any Gen 6 with active dampers.

And now I see there is a new, new firmware out; dated 8-28-17, with the refined velocity function. I thought that the last version had this function, but it seems it didn't.

It did! But this one is even...more refined? I wish I knew the details, but you know how engineers are.

granted I don't have MRC, i'd def invest in this if I did. its like having reg shocks and struts and being able to buy adjustment knobs for em after the fact.

the price is decent too... I paid just 300$ more to get BC racing coilovers on my 5th gen, and if I got the spring upgrade options I would have been in the same ballpark.

Funny you should say it that way! I was trying to describe this controller to another car enthusiast yesterday. Off-roader kinda guy. I told him it's like having someone at each corner of the car very quickly adjusting compression, rebound and stiffness to the current driving conditions and the requested driving style. I don't think he ever caught on.

with an offroad guy, I would explain to him, its like having fox brand shocks, but instead of sending back in for a revalving, you just update it via computer adjustments.

Just to let everyone know, there is an update to the calibration file dated 8-31-17. Seems to be an update to match the recent firmware update.
