Interesting Joe. So he had a bad starter???

The next thing I noticed was it's very hot today and got stuck in some bad traffic and I could hear what I thought was the IC pump in the grill going bonkers, pulled off the freeway and it was the fans not the pump. Never felt that much heat come out of a engine bay. But the temp readings were all good on the gauges...

I know you did say it wasn't the pump but did you buy that special funnel to for the Whipple reservoir so that you can connect it and it seals to the filler? Then fill the funnel at least mid way so you can see it from your drivers seat. Then press and hold the start button without starting the car but just so the electric pump starts and gets all that air out of the system? I had to do that to mine at least 10 times since the install. Unless you have a primer pump to truly remove the air, it takes forever to get the air out of the system.

OH YA, I jumped the IC pump relay, ran the pump off and on for hours.
And I have to do it again tomorrow (after reinstall of SC)

Temp gauge on the dash is a dummy gauge so you can't really rely on it.

When you get over 225 degrees ECT when the car is off the fan will kick on, over 240 It kicks on to a higher speed. You mentioned being in Detroit so I know you get the same Hot Humid weather we get so yes after a track even it is very well possible to get those temps after shutting the car off.

About the slow crank, I haven't seen this mentioned but have you checked the wiring to your IC Pump? Make sure it's not drawing power with the Key/Ignition off?

Not too sure how to test that. Will have to get a multimeter (for shame yeah i know)...

I can tell you this... when I pull in garage the IC pump does run for about 30sec to a minute after I shut down the engine so I'm guessing YES it does draw power or can...

Dont know if I mentioned this however after the Battery has been on the charger for a solid night, in the AM it does crank better but still slow as SH|T.

The power supply to the IC pump is not keyed. Mine runs a bit after shutdown also. I've never had a weak battery though.

Figured it out! Brettman and I have been talking and one thing went off like a lightbulb.

The car has been acting like the bypass valve doesnt even exist.... like BOOST ALL THE TIME.... well if that's the case the air compression would exist while trying to turn the motor at start.

YEP. Fiddled with the actuator and now it cranks great.

I contacted Whipple as the motion is not smooth, when moving the arm it seems to move a fraction of the way and hesitates like it bumps something inside.

Here is a video I make after talking to Brett last night. But as you can see in the video... it now cranks great.

Well unfortunately I was too hasty claiming this is fixed. Is anyone else with the Whipple having issues where it turns over weak?

I'm about to take off the belt and see if the bearings are hosed again....Im going to be mega pissed if I have to send another unit to Whipple.

Sorry. Please disregard that last link.. Was the wrong one. That was a battery issue.

This is the one about slow start.

Hopefully your not in the same boat as me. Take the belt off and push in the clutch and have someone watch the crank pulley. That's all they had to do to show me my crank was flopping back and forth. Car had very similar issues.
