Where are you getting your numbers, makes no sense for ss 1le to be lower than regular ss coupe, in fact I just googled and found article saying V6 1le is 155 but v8 1le is 186.

Whats weird is 155 on my vert. Like I'll die any slower at 155 than at 180 if I crash

I've done 150 in my SS. Fast enough for me. Can't imagine 160+ in this car.

Weird I got 156 before everything said stop on the dyno with my 2.0T Camaro.

The SS 1LE has a larger tire package for one and designed for track. It could be as simple as more road resistance

As far as the SS vert being set at 155 MPH I would guess it has to do with Aero at high speeds. GM claims they put over 300 hours in the wind tunnel with the new Camaro. If they felt the convertible was not stable at that high of speed they are going to computer limit the car.

Just my thoughts.

We are probably closer to the drag of the ZL1, so using the above equation and assuming 198 mph from 650 hp, the same drag will give you 176mph at 455 hp.

In Texas 95 mph is an elevated offense or 25 mph over the limit.
