I don't think he is at 500 hp. But I do think you would have won regardless. He still should have shown up if anything just to have a fun race against you. Maybe he doesn't know how to launch too well.
I ran an 11.7 @ 120, first passes on a good tire. Think my car has a couple tenths lower in it depending on track and weather conditions, but it was moving out regardless.

yeah, between the weight difference and the auto trans you would have hurt his feelings.maybe you could give him a handicap by putting a couple of fat chicks in your car...

On the Camaro 5 fast list the quickest m6 is 11.60 @ 119. The quickest A6 is 11,20 @ 118. So there are 5th gens out there running your times and quicker. These cars are bolton only with zero internal modes. You just need to find some quick 5th gens to give you a run......I guess your buddy doesnt have the goods.
. Just tell your bud to give it a go anyway.

Bolt on 6g = H/C 5 g for the most part. The performance difference is a good half second across the board apples to apples.

Times are only going to improve people just now figuring out the platform. We have bolt on cars in the tens at full weight. The 5g never did that. I'll be in the tens soon enough with my car on a stock converter. I've got some issues that need sorted. All in all my current car is just as fast as my fully built heads cam 2010 SS

Ya looks like the best bolt on only 5th gen is 11.2 @ 118. Seems to be a log jam on both lists for guys running in the 11s. Which is where alot if guys in both cars will be. The fast list has some good drivers. Your list leader ran 126 mph....wtf .

You are about 200 pounds ligher too. RWHP doesn't win races nor equate to great et's.

Fun update, he finally got to the track and ran on a night I wasn't there. Ran a 12.4 and not sure the MPH. I guess you guys/gals were right on that one, by a decent margin. Worse DA for his run than my 11.7, but DA won't make up .7 in ET at this level.

Im thinking your friend should be alot better then that. M6 on street tires with full boltons would really be a bear to get down the track. Find a full bolton A6 5th gen on drag radials and go pro your run. Tryi g to run on street tires is tough. Did you get any times with your setup on street tires compared to slicks?

The setup at the time all this happened did a very low 12 on factory runflats, and 11.7 @ 120 on slicks. Car is currently apart for a good cam and e85 right now though so those times are subject to change soon.

In all reality on average a 5g needs at least a cam to hang with a bolt on 6g. The last l99 I seen at the track was running high 11s at 117-118 with cam and stall. He was pretty shocked when I revealed I was simply bolt ons outrunning him handily.

My current car is just as fast as my heads/cam 2010 SS. A big reason for this is the 8 speed tranny. From a highway roll I don't know which would be faster between my new car or my 2010. But from a dig GM has really got the 6gen dialed in

If you lived closer I'd oblige you

I think you'd be surprised my friend.

You get any times yet? What kind of tire you got?

My bolton 5th gen 1LE (LTs, cats, CAI, DRs, No tune) was about half a tenth faster in the 1/4 than my CA6 SS M6 comparing the best 1/4 of each. Both in the 12.3s.

Drivers race. My CA6 SS dynoed 429 rw stock, so the heavier 1LE must have been making more power as it was about 175 pounds heavier. I never dynoed the 1LE.
