concept work on left turbo manifold based on measurements I took today to shock tower etc.

May need to move the turbo another inch or two forward but I think it is about on point with clearing the water pump shock tower etc.

The dp will have to be ovaled to go between the left frame rail and the turbo manifold but not by much.

Should clear the hood, if there is any interference it will be likely 1-2" max so just the hump of the snail might protrude not the entire filter inlet or anything else.... (a copo hood would clear but personally if its peeking out on mine I'm fine with that)

Just need to angle the fuse box behind the headlight down however Armageddon did theirs, I haven't bothered bringing out a wrench to see yet.

Also will build new heater lines and a new water overflow/fill tank.

The drivers side will be much easier, might not need to mod the ac lines any, just bend the heck out of the bracket that holds them to the shock tower so they get closer to the tower....

Just waiting on delivery of my mockup engine now so I can start building

Mockup engine setup and mockup turbo the table ready to start fabbing

Gonna get my materials in next week for the new turbo manifolds.

For all the other fab monkeys out there, yes that is a Dynasty 700

So I still haven't pulled the trigger on which way to go yet. All fab materials are ordered though and monday I'll really scrutinize my car.

I want that WOW factor, pop the hood and lights out.... It is more about the reaction I get than what is easier to build or anything.

Twin topmount s366 t4 turbos
Pros:
*dual 3" downpipe, plenty of exhaust flow for 1500/1600whp
*upgrade-ability, can easily go with bigger turbos, bb turbos, etc later down the road
*in my opinion more wow factor

Cons:
*not yet sure how much room I can make with the fusebox/ecu. I know the Armageddon guys made enough room so there must be room there I just haven't gone to my car and looked at it long enough to find it yet.
*if I can't find the room from the fusebox/ecu and or need more room I will have to chop the hood to make room via going up. This can be covered up with a COPO hood but that isn't my style, I would likely just make some really nice air filter cover out of sheet metal that keeps rain/dust away from the filter and just rock it Unicorn Corvette style
*Dual turbos, dual wg, dual oiling, extra costs. Not really a issue but still there
*will have to relocate heater lines, water resivor/overflow tank, not the end of the world but still a bit of extra work

Turbonetics 91mm Ball Bearing Y2k T6 single
Pros
*I can get this turbo for $1250, it is worth nearly $3000.....
*1400hp-1600hp capable
*ball bearing
*easy to fit a large single turbo on drivers side, no ecu/fuse box crap to work around

Cons
*Can fit a max of a 3" downpipe by the steering column so would have to dual a 4" up pipe through the hood or fender/bumper that would normally be capped for street driving and then 3" go down to the exhaust for everyday low boost driving (700-800whp will be low boost most likely)
*Cheaperish to build, can use the stock passanger header, do a crossover pipe that then feeds to a new driver side manifold
*not quite as WOW factor in my opinion
*almost no relocation of anything to make it fit

I need a poll of the sorts to help me decide on what would be the bigger wow factor...
Opinions, comments, suggestions, fire away!

Would this be available in a kit once you have everything down to a science? I realize it's obviously super early, but I'm sure more people other than myself are really really wanting a sexy dual top mount setup that's affordable!

I might make it a kit.

It won't really be a low hp kit though, more like baseline 800-1000whp. Deff not a beginners setup.

I vote big single with a log style set up. I ran that type of set up on my GTO for 4 years with not a single issue. Made enough HP to push a 4300lb car in to the Mid 9's at 150.

Like i said my only thing i dislike about the big single is a 3in dp is all you can realistically fit by the steering shaft. That'll be a back pressure issue for anything over about 800whp imo.

You can see in my pic that the first 24" of the DP was 3" then moved to a 4" all the way to the rear of the car. We seen 950 to the tire.

I think you'll be alright if you can bump it up to 4 or bigger quickly

Started the new turbo manifold, I'll post pics tomorrow when I should have the driver side finished.

Decided on single turbo topmount driver side
Using a t6 turbonetics 91mm y2k turbo for mockup but will be using a big borg warner for the car.

Building the manifold to go up rather than down to maximize dp clereance. Should be able to do a custom oval tubing to squeeze between the manifold/head and steering column.

Here is a picture of the mockup engine. This intake is going to a car going to be in Tx Mile next week. The tuner Rick Clark will be doing some before after on stock car as well as the c7 procharger vette doing the tx mile.

NO stick with what works like AGP does..

top mount kits are prone to burning up spark plug wires
top mount kits have to have that ugly blanket crap and header wrap
top mount kits usually have header system that ends up cracking
top mount kits produce high engine bay temps
really the only thing they do positively is wow factor when you raise the hood..

saw a guy build a helion twin kit the same time I did my AGP needless to say he sold his I still have mine.. problem after problem.. but his did look better..

just mount 2 smaller ones on the bottom that utilizes the stock manifolds
