Ah, good. Of all the things that could go wrong - glad this was it.

And on that note...I find it remarkable how this thread went from lemon laws to spark plug wires, then Bugatti's back to a spark plug wire.

Ya i will say the paint quality is pretty bad, but thats all american manufacturers i think because my dodge Truck same BS...... fish eyes, stuff under the paint ect. Also hear only 2mils of clear on these things, not a lot of room for paint correction. About to ceramic coat snd clear bra

Lol...too many years in mfg I reckon.

I used to make a 18ga lead jumper with a faston .187 female terminal for black & decker that went in every weed whacker & hedge trimmer they made. Volume was 80k a week more or less. Think we ever had a defect on one?? Also made spark plug wire sets for aftermarket ironically.

When I first saw this thread my thought was it would be tied to a high volume common item & not zl1 specific but decided to let it play out. Automated machines are not perfect, assembly lines/workers are not perfect, QC controls are not perfect. Manufacturers want 0 PPM's but don't get them. Recalls are expensive & cost more than just money. That plug could likely get tracked back to the day hour it was received, installed, etc all in the name of continuous improvement / corrective action if more come along.

Some consumers & internet ninjas expect perfection without any real understanding how detailed the process is...how there are not more issues is amazing. Look at aviation alone. It's quite impressive.

That just shows that parts fail and no vehicle is immuned to such failures no matter what the price is. Glad it was something that they could find and not be one of those "We can't duplicate the problem" thing. That is all the mechanics are these day, parts changers. If the computer doesn't say replace this part then they don't know. Glad it was fixed.

Very true. No man or machine is perfect.
