Thanks for posting ! I would certainly have to consider that for the price and general performance

This looks like it may have been the better route

The MSD works best on M6es so far.

My Mods together:
  • MSD 20 rwhp
  • Rotofab Dry Filter 5 rwhp
  • 1 7/8 LTs with high flow cats 15 rwhp
Thread here:

These mods lowered my 1/4 ETs by .4 seconds.

Here is the MSD Dyno with stock tune By itself:

Test 4 STOCK VS MSD ATOMIC W STOCK AIR BOX 442 RWHP 435 RWTQ

Peak to Peak +13 RWHP -.5 RWTQ

Delta Gains +25 RWHP +23 at 6350 rpm

All gain are above 5000 RPM with a loss at 3800

great info and pictures! Thank you!

There is no knocking the dyno (and 11.0 ETs!!) that EFI tuning and good driving and DA got out of that combination. What is extremely cool is those numbers were generated for about the same $$ as just the price of the MSD if you do the work yourself. Bang for the buck is no contest. And the ported stock manifold did not lose the mid range that the MSD does. And your car looks stock to the dealer, although they might notice the E85 cable unless you can hide it somehow.

But, we still do not know if porting the MSD might also add more HP. And most likely if you are going bigger, Heads/Cam, turbos, or centrifugal, the MSD might show bigger results than the ported stocker.

Also as I mentioned so far the MSD seems to work better on the M6. Just bolting the manifold to the engine with no tune is probably not a good plan with the MSD.

All I can really tell you for sure the MSD is part of my build and you really feel the difference of the mods together at the track. DRs are need to put my power down on the street. I have one of the few M6 SSes that have gotten into the 11s, even with a crappy 60'.

I am looking forward to your project Whitemaro. Will you try porting or combining with other mods? I am curious about adding E-85 with the MSD. It would add back that mid range. More Everywhere.

I think this thread would get more notice in the bolt on section.

Unfortunately I will be installing the ported MSD with kooks lts and 3'' x pipe at the same time then tuning. So determining whats headers and whats intake will probably be impossible :(
