A few examples of Roto-fab quality:

-Stainless fasteners instead of coated steel, for corrosion resistance.

-High gloss silicone hoses, which look nice and last longer than rubber-based hoses

-Roto-molded duct work and air box, which effectively seals to the hood of the car

-All of our aluminum components are anodized rather than powder coated, which is more resistant to flaking and oxidation.

-Also included is an aluminum air straightener in the MAF housing which has been fine-tuned over the course of 100+ prototypes to perform at a very high level.

Ender 2664,
I will send you the AFR information that we discussed this afternoon. Thank you for your interest!

Unfortunately our air intake systems are not available for shipment to California. I'm very sorry we can't help you out in that respect.

Ender. I live in Socal also. I have the Roto Fab. I pm'd you just now about how to get one shipped to you and get a discount on it. Pm me back if you have any questions. Just get the Roto Fab. You won't be sorry. My buddy who has a 1SS got the K and N, I got the Roto Fab. He's the one winding up having buyers remorse and wishes he would have bought the Roto Fab unit instead.

First he said it just plain looked better under the hood than the K and N and he mentioned that the quality of materials appeared better. He said if performance numbers were equal he would have chosen the Rotofab unit. I introduced him to the Camaro6 forums after he purchased his Camaro and intake and after seeing that Roto Fab was the only one that produced any verifiable 3rd party gains, he had serious buyers remorse. Tim from EFI tuning seems to like it and he's one of our resident experts on tuning here so if it gets his thumbs up of approval that's good enough for me. I got mine with the sound tube delete but the engine seems louder than stock.

Rotofab = MAF readings do not get skewed. I am not saying I know for a fact other brands will skew the MAF numbers but it has been verified the RF does not so thats what I went with. It has also showed power on the dyno by more than one person.

There are only two aftermarket solutions I would even consider based on performance and looks. I won't comment on either but if you do your research you will find a lot of info on them on the forum here.

The NOISE you speak of with an aftermarket CAI system...Similar to the old time sound of a 4 bbl kicking in?
It sounds similar to a 1050 Dominator going full open.

I'm mainly looking for the sound, hp is just a fringe benefit.
If you are mainly looking for sound like in your original post then i can tell you that after having both the Roto-Fab CAI and Cold Air Inductions CAI installed in my stock Camaro SS that the Cold Air Inductions would be a better choice IMO. As far as K&N goes i have no clue....
