I have no idea what your taxes are and state tags, title, registration, and lien fees are but in MD they are 6%, and for this car tags etc are $279.00. So in order to be at $36,500 otd, they'd have to sell the car at around $34,250, and not include any dealer processing fees. Without incentives, rebates, or rewards, the dealer would literally have to go in the hole by over $2600.00. No dealership is going to do this, if they did, they wouldn't be in business long.
It's about 8-10 here in CA (where the poster is also from) and the tax a would be around 3k with a purchase price of 33.5k before taxes. It's possible if they were able to use conquest and a private offer plus farm I suppose.

Here the sales tax is paid when you register the car. When the otd price is talked about it does not include sales tax. Maybe that's the deal.

like I said before that is not how it works here. here you pay your sales tax later. you are well out of the door by the time you get to the dmv to plate the car.

it is something to be aware of when comparing prices so we are sure we are all on the same page.

states have a wide range of sales tax and property taxes and other fees. it makes more sense to compare the actual amount of money that goes to the dealer and not the state or at least state how much those numbers are so they can be removed from what you call the otd price.

It really is, I miss my g8 although it wasn't as fast as yours. My g8 ran 11.80's on dr's and I think this one will to NA. The A8 is just amazing and the Lt1 has pulling power to 6500 and just keeps pullin in every gear. There are some mods they are doing to get into the 9's pretty easy. Tens appear to be a breeze and I plan on that this year. I think 100 shot is right around 10.90's and 150 as some have shown 10.60's. You've had some cool rides in the 10's and you could reach that pretty quick with your abilities.

That is STILL the OTD price. You still have to pay tax on the vehicle just at a different location. ALL OTD prices should include everything you are forced to pay to take possession of the vehicle.

I had conquest and student discount, obviously it was not 36500 but in that same range such as 365xx. Student discount was almost 2k off and vonquest was another 500 or 1000 if I remember correctly. It took me almost a month of negotiating to get this car

Sales tax alone varies from 0% to over 9% depending on your state and other fees also are drastically diferent depending on where you live. When I talk about a price it will be in a format of $xx,xxx+ttl.

Deals do not get any better than at the end of January and February, especially in the northern climates. A deler can make money by moving a car at a loss.

And here I am paying list for a Camaro at the end of February. I hope its worth it.

Yes, but TTL is STILL included in the OTD price. You cant just throw it away.

Some people's ideas of what OTD means is different from others. For some OTD is just what you paid the dealer for the car, not counting your trip to the DMV to pay tax/title.

For others...OTD is everything.

I don't really feel one or the other is incorrect...its just a different view. For me...OTD was what I paid the dealer for the car. Title and tax, while always a part of a car purchase, feels like a separate thing to me.

The guys saying they got their 40K plus cars (MSRP and including tax/title) for for 35 or 36 either got the deal of a lifetime (over 5K off the car???), are lying, or are not counting tax/title plus got incentives.

For me, I got my 1SS, Auto, NPP for right around $39,500...everything including tax/title.
