These are the pads I bought.

The Schwaben jack stand is identical to the Big Red stand.

Reading all this makes me nervous as hell to start working on my car this spring. I was really hoping the ZL1 jack pads would be the answer but seems to not be so. For you guys that are using wood to lift the car, are you then resting it your stands on the pinch weld after? My concern would be lifting the other side of the car after one side is in the air on stands as that would apply a horizontal force on the weld and bend the thing. Good news is I have a shit tons of hockey pucks I can use as pads lol

Guys are way too paranoid about bending the pinch weld. It's not the end of the world.

I am now using the ZL1 adding Bolton jack points. They sit nicely on my jack stands
Or my jack.

I have those ready to install as soon as it gets warm for real. Did you do anything besides the vendor install instructions? I read in one thread that they wouldn't hold without adding a dimple to screw into and adding loctite. Wouldn't want one to fall off on the highway.

The problem with this world is stupidity.
I'm not saying there should be penalties for stupidity,
but why don't we just take the warning labels off everything and let the problem solve itself.

I just got the lift pads in the mail today. I already had the magpuck from them. I plan to jack with the magpuck and then use the lift pads on the jack stands

I like those but I'm having trouble convincing myself to spend $90 on them.

I thought about that.... it falls off, cuts your tire, you crash, then it flies through someone's windshield behind you.... no thanks.

jeesh, I must have recently watched the movie Final Destination or something...

I agree, just with all the cars showing up with dealers jacking up incorrectly, I rather do this than deal with that. Considering all the recalls so far, may be money well spent.

Well, it kinda is. Remember all those 4th gens back in the day with bowed out lower front fenders on them? I saw so many that I lost count.

You had to take it in to a bodyshop to have it fixed $$$.

Same, I was also considering 2 sets of bolt ons so there's a designated jack point and Jack stand point. More for tire shops

YES! just went to Discount Tire for my first rotation and realized that the pinch weld sits in an inch + - above the plastic rocker so the rocker lifts they have will not work (GM FAIL) sooooo they had to VERY CAREFULLY use 4 floor jacks to lift it! I was cringing the whole time. plus my jackstands at home are useless because the space in the middle where the pinch weld would sit is too deep so the stands would actually contact the floor panel and crush it! WTF GM!
