Same with my ‘17. Reeder Chevy in Knoxville saw it twice for low pressure, and ‘shockingly’ they couldn’t reproduce the sub 20psi I was seeing after hard acceleration. Wouldn’t do anything without it showing a CEL. “Just go drive your car.” I ended up footing the bill for a Katech swap through a private shop. Like hell I was waiting for a blown engine before fighting their bullshit some more. Blew me off on a few things on my SS too (loose oil pan bolts for example).

You've got to push a little harder with the dealer and GM customer assistance. They have a policy calculator and should pay way more than that. I've seen things get taken care of in these cases.

No one should have to swap out an oil pump before thier spark plugs ever.

I have had 2 oil pump failures, same year car as OP. Both covered by Chevy, engine warranty extended to 7 years or 70K miles if I recall correctly.
It's been "good" since second pump was put on. Both instances caught seconds from DIC error message. 2nd time i noticed oil pressure bouncing all over and since i was very close to dealer... just dropped it off. I think first one failed at like 22,000 miles, the second oil failed at 29,000 miles. I think I am up to 33,000 miles currently. Disappointing that track weapon can't survive a drive to the office!

2017/2018 had a known oil pump issue. GM released a tech bulletin to address it. Dealers have generally been pretty good about replacing them under warranty. Some people with 2017/2018 models have even gone well over their warranty period without having a failure. 2019+ does not have this issue. If you bought a 2017/2018, be prepared to replace the oil pump at some point. Sure it sucks, but it's been a known issue for many years now so it's not like it's a surprise all of a sudden. The LT4 is otherwise a very reliable platform other than 2017/2018 oil pump.

I didn't hear any real explanation either. I think they mentioned that was the 3rd one they've done and that there was concern of engine damage. The best explanation I heard is from Zach at Katech.

OP lick your wounds and fix the car. GM is not steeping up for a 6 year old used car.
