The ls7 and the suspension was the big priec tag items of the last z28. This car wouldn't have those so it could drop while offering a better package.

The Z/28 eliminates the creature comforts. A lot would go, and chop off weight and cost.

Development of a NA LS7 replacement would cost a bit. Also, developing a Z/28 worthy suspension that's a noticable step up from the SS, which looks to be already awesome, wouldn't be all that cheap.

Removing content tends to add to product cost As the assembly lines aren't necessarily designed to do this. Usually it goes to a sort of niche line for that. Added labor equals added cost.

Keep in mind they have a lot of things they can take from the Caddy big bad V that they have already spent cycles and dollars on. They also already have the stripped down interior... it's a 1LT. Simply remove more speakers and a few other odds and ends and they are good to go.

Speaking of Caddy's.... Added the CTS-V and ATS-V along with making misc edits and adjustments from comments above.

Theres not much more to use on the Camaro though. It already has MRS as an option. The only suspension better is the DSSV that the z/28 already uses. Same thing for the breaks. I dont know if the CCB's are used on the CTS-V, but if they are that might drop the price of those some. But like crysalis said, its usually more expensive to remove options, like the rear seat and what not.

Neat, can you add a column calculating price per horsepower (=H/I) and a column calculating weight per horsepower (=C/I).

Awesome!

I made a couple of charts based on the data you've collected:

Pretty sure the 3834lbs is the V6, not RT.

Fairly cool to see all the data. Can't wait for Oct 16th to update the 16 Camaro numbers.

No word on when we will see real GT350 and GT350R numbers.

I will give you a A for effort but there are way too many variables to account for when trying to compare all those cars and then picking and choosing the test results. The closest fair comparison that you could do is just use MT's best recorded data for each car. Last I checked MT was still DA correcting its times and if you used the best times, from one publication, who DA corrects, it would be as fair as it could get without a head to head. I would suggest posting trans type for each result as well. I'm not going to call them out but I see some poor results from some cars and cherry picked results from others. That's because of different drivers, on different days, on different tracks, in different conditions.
