Please God fix this before The ZL1 comes out.
It will not happen in winter.

This is the answer I got so I guess we have to deal with it until a accident occurs due to not being able to see out the window. If I'm reading this right when it's 95 out with a 100% humidity they want us to increase the temp starting to think I should of went with a different sports car.

Good morning,

My sincere apologies for the delay, John. Our internal technical resource team reached back out to us, regarding your front windshield fogging concern. After additional review, General Motors has conducted verification testing on all vehicles in regard to the condensation on the exterior of the glass in vent mode. GM has verified the air bleed to the windshield is normal and meets the NHTSA specifications. In high humidity days, if the AC is on max cold, due to the natural reaction of the temperatures and humidity it is normal for condensation to form on the glass. It may be necessary to increase the air temperature on HVAC settings to eliminate this condition. We're very sorry for any ongoing frustration this caused, but this is considered to be normal operation. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or concerns.

Gotta love the generic copy/paste response.

Also, I can't recall on any of the 19 pages of this thread, anyone that said they have the temperature set to LO (or "max cold"). We already have turned up the temperature, 10-20 degrees above "max cold."

This morning it was 72F outside. I had all windows closed, the A/C set on 74, and the windshield STILL started fogging up. I had to turn the A/C up to a higher temperature to get it to disappear.

This "feature" of the vent being designed to provide a consistent air bleed to the windshield is certainly not advertised by GM or any of it's dealers. If it had been, I would not have bought this car! To me, this is clearly deceitful advertising due to omission of critical information that could result in an
accident.

That is what I was thinking if I had know that there was a issue it would of had me looking at other cars. It is especially hard for my wife she is 4 11 and when it fogs up she can not see anything it pretty much blocks her view.

I got the same canned response.

I'm looking at making a vent cover out of neoprene.

Fogging windshield

I've gotten this same bs reply over and over and over for months.

I agree with above statements that if I had of known of this I would have bought a different car. If I wanted to drive a car that I have to be hot inside while driving I would have waited for a z28 with no air conditioning.

I'm in the process of making a prototype cover out of foam, then after that see what else I can do to make something substantial. Maybe we all should go into business of fixing GM's mistakes.

And yeah, if I knew this window fogging was an issue, I'd have a Challenger in my garage right now.

Wish I would have waited another month or so before purchasing, this thread would have steered me away.

I don't see why it wouldn't have the same issue, doubt the HVAC system would be any different in the ZL1. Sorry to anyone wanting a ZL1 in a warm climate. At least it'll look good sitting in a garage.

Sall good I'm buying it for winter only. Said no one ever. Maybe the complaining zl1 owners make the issue more clear.

Wonder if this had of happened on a corvette what the outcome would've been.

Seriously someone start a class action lawsuit. Then they have to produce these "NHTSA specifications". Where's the "disciples" in all of this? Time to start hitting the social media sites.
