Good looking Mustang if you ask me with one hell of a good motor. I would be proud to drive and own it just as I am proud to drive and own my Camaro.

Whoever sits around and knocks the 5.0 and the looks of the Mustang basically do so out of fear of being taken to the wood shed by one of the Mustang's but you gotta remember there is always something newer and faster, its pretty much how the Pony Car wars go.

soon as possible i will test drive one here..only problem is you need to own one for a few months to discover it's bad points...and if it's like the 2015 to 2017 the list will be long
in fact the list will be the entire car except the brakes lol.

we'll see if ford have sorted out the entire cars problems..i doubt it though

will the motor actually have any low end grunt
it will be no different to drive..i wouldn't have it for free..
plus it's about as ugly as a car can get..s550 int no beauty and this newer model is just dreadful.
have they redesigned the irs so it works on this model..or is it still gonna float about at the back above 100mph.
zero to 60 times are meaningless for most people.
I love my camaro but all your points are so off. 0-60 in 3.9 it will have plenty of low end grunt. 0-60 times are extremely important bragging rights. You sound very bitter

I can honestly say I'll never buy another GT again...or another Mustang unless it is a GT500 and comes with options like heated/cooled seats, heated steering wheel, sunroof (maybe one day), automatic (one day), etc. I've dealt with Ford's BS in the Mustang too many times. This last one, my S550, was it for me. Like I have been saying, Mustang GTs require way too much to make power and then get that power to the ground effectively.

problem is i get to drive different cars at work..my 2 bosses have bmw's and audi's
my van is a ford transit connect..my dd is a hyundai i30 diesel.
i suppose if you only drive a mustang your kinda immune to how bad it is..
these bozos need to go drive some other cars..
my hyundai i can cruize at 100mph and drink coffee and hold the steering wheel with one finger
in the s550 u have to hold on for life ..tramlining, hood fluuter, rear end floating,
all make a bad bad experience

Hmm. I like the extra power over the '17 and the other improvements. I'm likely in the minority that likes the styling, as well (aside from that stupid rear wing, but at least you can delete it). But man, they screwed the pooch on pricing. Base GT with the options I want (Performance package + active exhaust, the latter which requires a $2k option package which throws in a ton of crap I DON'T want) brings the sticker to close to $43k.

On the other hand, a comparable 1SS with active exhaust and gray 20" wheels about $4k less. Granted there are some things I'm not crazy about with the 6th-gen, but with that much difference in price I'd have no trouble overlooking such faults...

Still, I'd be happier to have either one than the white turd sitting in my garage (I'd be overjoyed if a 2000lb JDAM slammed into it right now...).

This makes me wonder about where the Camaro will go next, will we get a more power I-4 turbo motor and a more powerful V-6 engine? will we see a power bump for the V-8 SS Camaro as well?

I'd be surprised.

GM hasn't done a power bump since the ls1 and ls6. They get an engine and stick with it.

I'm guessing emissions and or mpg is holding them back. The cam in the lt1 is smaller than the ls3. The could easily revise the intake for a bit more hp and rpm as well as a slightly larger cam. Keep roughly the same torque and increase the hp by about 20 imo

I think gm is looking toward the dohc 6.2 if I had to guess. It will be a monster having best of both worlds cubes and high rpm

Other than the 10 speed I'd be surprised if the SS gets any strait line improvements this gen. But I'd love to be wrong

I've never heard anyone brag about 0-60 times. Typically it's either quarter/eighth mile times or lap times. On the street the average person doesn't even race from a dig so if it were me personally I'd be more concerned with the overall acceleration as a whole rather than just part.

My big question is will this drag strip mode be something that is like "Track" mode where it can be left on or is it something that has to be setup like launch control every time you want to race? Is it something that can be turned on and off as the car is moving? Will this mode improve performance for people who race half/full mile type racing or is it only for people who race from a dig?

Me personally I don't want performance that has to be turned on and off intermittently so hopefully it's just a mode and not something that requires a process every time.

I can't say that I care for them myself but I just don't like the look of the new mustangs (15+).....except for the gt350(r). My favorite style was the 03/04 cobra or the update prev gen (12-14?)

But one thing I'll give ford....they give their customers the ability to turn off the auto kill feature cars have now when they pull up the redlights....at least in their trucks. I had a Malibu loaner once and I ****in hated that feature and couldn't turn it off!

The owner of my company offered to buy me a new company truck and partly bc it's a ford (but mostly bc they put a vehicle wrap on it lol), I respectfully declined. My scratched up, dented up, brake squeaking, hard as shit 1-2 shifting, 150k mile 4.8 GMC work truck runs just fine for me
