They may do what they did with the LSA. ZL1 with an LT5 variant would be amazing. I don't think the weight would go up much over the current set up, and honestly, I think the biggest thing with the GT500 will be the weight of the s550 platform.

The weight of the 2014 GT was a lot less than the 2015 GT. The live axle setup was less, but squirrely. I had a HP mod by Ford Racing with the fully adjustable suspension setup added by the dealer the day I bought it. It made the suspension a whole different car. I had it set on just a little less than "race" mode. Very very stiff. Stiffer than the ZL1 in Track Mode.

I had a 2011 as well. I remember when Ford announced the S550 and were claiming a 200 pound weight saving over the s197, only later to come out with a platform that's almost 250 pounds heavier. They also claimed it was all new, but the wheel base was the same to 1/10th of an inch. It was pretty disappointing. Compare that to GM, going from the Zeta, to the Alpha platform. Cut weight, increased rigidity, added more tech to the cars. The s550 wasn't a whole new platform, more like an evolution of the s197, and it shows they cut costs.

I was disappointed when the 2015 came out. I liked the IRS, but it was slower, plus with my 2014 HP bump(small) it pulled away easily from the 2015's. It really was only the IRS changes for the most part.

They are around $120K with decent options. Not bad for a luxury sedan with AWD and can do the quarter mile in under 10 seconds.

It's weird but very true man. I tried to deal on a Magnetic Gray they had but they were absurd. Said if I was serious they might come down to $15k over. LOL. Passed obviously. They did sell it tho. To a guy in Montana I was told.

That's precisely what he did. He loved his Track Attack experience that much. Keep in mind, he hasn't tracked the Z06. He just putts around in it with an occasional burst here an there.
He bought the Bullitt because he wanted a more capable DD and didn't want a GT or a SS and probably didn't want to spend GT350 money.

Probably at the same dealership that was leasing Hellcats for $400 a month with 0 down and 0 due at signing...like some Hellcat owners claim. Or he worked at the dealership. Or it doesn't exist...

There is a lot of snake oil being sold to the car journalists nowadays. Nevertheless, great numbers.

See no point in these cars (except to say you have one....yippeee!!!) unless you make them AWD. Otherwise, a standard GT or SS is way more manageable on the street and less frustrating.
Who cares? Lots of people, there are many new 600hp plus cars sold every year. You keep bringing up launching from a stop in threads but the extra power comes in handy on the track, passing and quick high speed runs in Mexico. The SS is good for you power wise, but others may want more power. You may never understand and that’s ok, you got the car that’s right for you.

It’s 760 hp crank power, right? So around 640 whp (assuming ~15% drivetrain loss which is typical for a rear wheel drive car, particularly a Mustang). Nothing a supercharger cannot address if fitted on the SS. Just saying

It will probably put more to the wheels as the DCTs typically have less parasitic loss, especially dry clutch. Wet clutch DCTs are still more efficient than a regular manual. And I guess you can modify anything to run 10s.

I'm with you.

I love my 460hp GT, but I wouldn't mind if it was 1,460hp. Or 600. Or 800.

+1. The HP is best for when you are never still. Never from a standstill. I can get sideways very easy in my Tacoma with 278HP and 265TQ which means nothing. Pulling out of the corner and away from the competition is where the extra HP wins races.
