100%. In addition to what I already have (Killswitch, obd port lock, steering wheel lock, 9mm lol), I'm thinking of adding a pedal lock. Although I admit we're reaching the point of "it's more of a pain to actually get these things off" than it is peace of mind. Especially knowing it's mostly for visual deterrence.

Be an interesting discussion if they actually tried to enforce that as it came in an envelope with "Safety Recall Notice" in big red capital letters.

I agree something is better than nothing and feel for the guys with older cars not covered on this. Had mine done and Friday and it went fine, just had to re-activate the auto lock and remote window features mentioned here.

Also of note, the Soler throttle controller lets you disable the throttle pedal, so there is no acceleration, just the idling roll.

I called to schedule the bcm update and they said they have a new mobile service, so they are coming to my house on this Wednesday to do the update.

Wow! Now that's interesting. I'd definitely prefer that if only to avoid having someone else drive the car.

Drive the car where? In my case they drove it like 20 feet from drop off to the shop. I could see the entire time. They don't need to do like a road drive or anything for this update. My mileage was exactly the same when I picked it up as when I dropped it off

Don't know about you, but I don't like other people touching my car if at all possible. Wasn't there an anecdote just one page or two back in this thread about a dealership rotating the tires despite not having a square setup?

They said they just started it and other dealers are also starting the program. They wanted me to leave car there overnight before they offered the mobile service.

Greetings, ladies and gents. I own a 20 SS 1LE w/M6. Don't know if anyone has seen the above link, but I just had the BCM download completed on my car yesterday. Apparently, this has nothing to do with the A10 recall. A different recall addresses that issue. Sounds like this has more to do with theft prevention, as described in the link. Still a bit vague, but GM evidently is trying to address the theft issue.

Coincidentally, my reverse gear camera is work much more consistently since the download.

I agree, I have a similar feeling. I can't stand the thought of someone else driving my car.

However, I'm more comfortable with someone never leaving the lot, within my sight range, to plug some computer in to the OBD2 port for an hour. Most times I am not comfortable with it.

Got my BCM update this past Friday. Dealer didn't have a clue what it actually does. Lighting, door locks/remote windows got reset. Also, my old deleted phone from a year ago showed back up in the infotainment. Lastly, every time I start the car, the infotainment is on a different screen than it was when I shut it off and so far not the same one twice.
