Doubtful.

Our Friday night cruise can draw a couple thousand cars. I've seen 5th gens taking up 2 spaces and the owners blocking the spots on either side with chairs. In the mean time you'll see Lambourghinis, Ferraris, Lotus, Porsche, ZR1 Corvettes all taking up one spot and placing their chairs behind the car out of the way. Yes, they had to tell the 5th gen owners to move it. They announce it over the PA all night too.

It's unfortunate that the OP lives in an area where the camaro folks aren't up to his standard. I know the vegas crew has about 15-20 camaros that show up every saturday to a car show called "cars & coffee", and there is not one owner that does any kind of peeling out, or unnecessary revving...unless to show off a new mod that might affect their exhaust...then they may rev a little. We also don't let another persons car affect the way we feel about that person. We have people that put lambo doors on their car. Some people in our club don't care for that, but we don't dislike anyone for doing it. That's childish.

Burn outs, thumping stereos, general stupidity get more car cruises shut down than anything else. It's not just a 5th gen problem but I do see 5th gens doing it more than any other car

My advice, deal with your problems in person. don't bottle it up to the point where you have to create a thread about how disappointed you are in the 5th gen community. At least until you've handled your own personal feelings toward them. Who knows, maybe after you talk to a few of them, your views on the 5th gen camaro community might change a little. If not, then move to vegas and see what you think about our little group.
Lot of cool people on this forum but the arrogance reigns supreme here as well. The OP is just throwing it out there. You suggest handling it in person. Look at how many people in this thread say if you don't like it then sell your car. Look at how many other threads have people being told to get out and sell their car. Just mention another car and you have plenty people saying this is a Camaro Forum if you Want to mention another car then sell your Camaro and go buy that car. Look at how many people on here talk about someone getting anywhere near their car and want to go beat someone up and how many people tell them they should have. I'm doubting handling it in person by trying to express his feelings is going to go over well. The OP's next post would be from a hospital room.

As far as your car is concerned...sheesh man, hahaha!! Clean that thing out...lol!!
I 100% agree. It's the average Joes who bought these and all of a sudden think they have a super-special show car. It's a Camaro... a run of the mill car with a cool body. No more, no less. The Mustang and Challenger are equally as "unspecial" in the whole scheme of things, but they are all cool!

This is my 4th Camaro, I have had as many Corvettes and a plethora of other sporty cars... I understand there are DBs in every group. Maybe it's because "we" (Camaro5 members) see some much that maybe its not that bad really.

I am not selling my car, at least not because of others views about me as an owner or the car itself.

Just sent... don't want to offend anyone.

As I said before, I'm local to the OP. Of the events I have been to, no C5G club member has done burnouts, etc. Maybe as some say revving a few times after a new mod, but hardly are no others doing similar. Not saying you are wrong, but I will defend the majority of my C5G brethren...

Another thing, to diss someone else's car simply because it is a V6 is totally not cool man. I saw the build thread, and her car is pretty sweet. Would your opinion be different if she put SS badges over it and left the hood closed?

And I'm not coming at you so don't take this reply the wrong way. But seriously man, how many of these elite 5th gen owners are you running into. Even if you ran into 1 every now and again it isn't enough to make you not enjoy your car. EVERY car group has these types. The import crowds have them, The Mustang crowd has them, the Dodge boys have them...GTR's, CTS-V's, Vettes...etc etc. Why are you not enjoying your car? Is your love for your car based solely on how people who have the same car behave? Rhetorical question there...just saying. Your attitude towards Tori's car is exactly what you say you hate...irony man, irony.
This. Thank you for recognizing sarcasm when you see it Blaqhole.

For those of you who didn't get it, see what I did is I took the same kind of complaint the OP had and turned it around so it sounds like us people he's complaining about are complaining about HIM! It's so funny if you actually think about it. I'm sorry if I sounded too serious about it and my joke went over your head like the blue angels. I'll try to dummy myself down and be less funny and less serious and less intelligent just for you, big fella.

I will go back to the kitchen now... build a cake or sumpin. barefoot. Sorry, too old to be pregnant. Sir.

There are A holes(Just look at me) in every group. That doesn't mean you condemn the entire group. If that were the case, I would have moved out of this country a long time ago.

I'm not trying to hate. I'm just trying to understand. It seems like maybe both groups are jealous of each other-- or at least trying to out-man the other and using their pride instead of their brains...

You're really hating on them for having 5th gen T-Shirts? Because I have one, and it doesn't make me lame any more than a Corvette shirt makes a Vette guy lame or a Jeep shirt makes a Jeep guy lame....

I haven't had any issues with other 5th Gen owners. Like said above...there are A-holes in every crowd.

"They think they're soooooo cool, but I have news for them... THEY AREN'T SO COOL!!! And I just stick it to 'em, cuz they're such tools. I like to make it a point for them, and everyone else to know, that I am not a tool... which is, in fact, what they are. Always hanging around with each other... like they have common interests and stuff. You'd think they drive the same car! I hate people that find groups of other people like them, and then hang out. And I hate even more, that if they see me, and they think I might have their same interests, that they flag me down and ask me to come over. And showing off? At a car show?! WELL NO MORE! I'll have none of this! Where do these people get off?!"

Honestly... that's about what I got from the first post. I originally thought people do these gathering things because of camaraderie. My bad.

wow this thread is full of butthurt.... Seriously. who the heck cares if some people decide to park in their own section of a car show. You don't have to. Who the heck cares if some people park far away from other cars to avoid door dings. You don't have to. Who the heck cares if some Camaro owners don't know how to change their oil or tie their shoes? Does it really matter? Seriously?

The sequence of events in my original post may have created the confusion you're questioning above.

This wasn't the first time I have had these experiences. It has even dated back to last year at the same show - hence why I snub them now.

To everyone else - People can go and do whatever the hell they want, and generally I don't give a damn. HOWEVER, this is an organized show, and people should respect the rules of the show. Making your own parking section, reving, peeling out down the main road are all things that people have been advised not to do. Period. Plain and simple. The consequences of these actions ranges from minor (annoying other members) to broader (drawing negative attention to the show) to major (reckless driving reports that alert the authorities and gets the show shut down). THAT is why I don't want to be associated with the group. THAT is why I have a complaint.

This is a public show for all makes, models, and years. It also encourages non-muscle car owners to come out and take a look at the vehicles and have a good time.

If this crowd wants to go off and start their own show where their actions are the norm, be my guest. You won't get a single gripe from me, as I could care less.

I see nothing wrong with wearing 5th gen shirts or any car shirt for that matter or parking with your club and friends during a car show. No offense meant to you OP but from my perspecive it sounds like you are making assumptions and judging these people unjustly. Have you made an attempt to talk to these people and make friends at all? Perhaps they were just trying to be friendly and invite you over to there group to make new friends. Try not to be as judgemental and jsut be friendly and open to everyone. You dont have to be friends with the obvious A-hole but you might find some of those camaro folks youre talking about are very decent and awesome people.

Half the problem in this world is everyone automatically makes an assumption or judgement of something or someone. Why can't we all just show respect and kindness to one another. Just because someone is proud of there car doesnt mean they are snubbing the rest of the world. I wear my camaro shirt, I park with my club and I thank god every night for him bringing them into my life. I dont like every mod or car out there but I dont go up and talk crap to there face and let them know my opinion either. I feel kindness goes alot farther in this world and I love to compliment the other camaros because it makes the owner feel good.
