look around you people, some of us are doing the same things that have been done for years and years, we are only getting lip about it cause we have a new car and somehow people perceive since we have a new car we don't know anything. Stay home don't come out to the car shows and cruises and you won't be bothered by it and let us enjoy ourselves.
To your point:
Cars from the 50s and 60s were loaded with chrome from the factory. 5th gens were not. If u want to bling out the engine I say sweet but when people start chroming and badging the exterior/interior to the point it looks like a carnival ride, well.......

Poor schmuck. If he wants to hang around with the pt cruiser crowd, it's his choice but he's welcome to come be with us and let our cool rub off on him anytime!

have a nice day, OP
Hold up a second Tori... do you mind if I call you Tori, or should I just refer to you as your highness? Did you take the time to read what you wrote and actually comprehend how stupid it sounds and you are EXACTLY what the OP is talking about.

News flash sweetheart, you drive a run of the mill V6 Camaro. Whoopie do da. I wouldn't look twice at your car. I happen to really like my car and all 5th through 1st gens for that matter but I don't really go to shows to gawk at the awesomeness of a production car that the local dealer has 20 of. I feel the same way about the jag offs that come out in their C6 corvettes. WGAS.

Yes, I go with some other 5th gens to show bc we are friends. We park together, one car per spot and wander off. When we do stay by the cars it's bc we are friends and are chatting, not because we are guarding our cars or protecting them.

Jesus, I have had my car almost 3 years now and lately, I almost hate owning it because of the attitude people have about it and the owners.

Remove your head from your ass. It's a freakin Camaro.

I give 100% props and credit to the op. he's totally right. Preach on brother, preach on!!!

Out!

Just sent... don't want to offend anyone.

Please tell me that you knew she was being sarcastic and that you yourself were being sarcastic as well...please tell me that. Because if you didn't realize it, I think it was blatantly obvious that she was joking. Come on...read it again...and this time take notice of the smilies.

Another thing, to diss someone else's car simply because it is a V6 is totally not cool man. I saw the build thread, and her car is pretty sweet. Would your opinion be different if she put SS badges over it and left the hood closed?

And I'm not coming at you so don't take this reply the wrong way. But seriously man, how many of these elite 5th gen owners are you running into. Even if you ran into 1 every now and again it isn't enough to make you not enjoy your car. EVERY car group has these types. The import crowds have them, The Mustang crowd has them, the Dodge boys have them...GTR's, CTS-V's, Vettes...etc etc. Why are you not enjoying your car? Is your love for your car based solely on how people who have the same car behave? Rhetorical question there...just saying. Your attitude towards Tori's car is exactly what you say you hate...irony man, irony.

Geezzz theres so much win in the responses..
On another note, op haven't you noticed all the other threads starting off like im so tired of.... or ppl need to use the search button... etc. so in that case I wouldn't be surprised if people are getting tired of seeing threads like this popping up.. in my opinion if you're so tired of people creating threads and posting to others about topics their concerned with create your own forum.. and keep it moving...Don't discourage others from creating threads. I mean really how are you going to start to dislike all 5th gen owners thats like the current all mustang owners are douche bags.. Smh people need to grow up and stop letting a few bad apples influence your judgement on people.. This relates not just to forums but life in general.

Also since you don't like it so much instead of venting over the internet grow some (courage ) and converse with them of how you feel, BUT be respectful.. Seems to me people are lacking a lot of respect towards others a lot lately, more so on the internet ha..

Hey I got an idea, why don't you make a thread about it? Seems to be the new trend lately! lol

Dude, he's not just referring to your comment about them driving off recklessly, but the rest of your post... Also if you don't like hearing other cars accelerating don't bother listening to it when they leave. Personally I love seeing brutal accelerations and listening to exhaust notes at different cars & coffee meets

You know... I'm on the fence. I read it about 4 times, tried to take it all in and considered some of her other posts. I still can't tell if she was being sarcastic or not... I decided to leave it because it's true, even if it was falsely directed at Tori. If she was in fact being sarcastic, which is possible, I am sorry, Tori, but my point is still the same.

As far as the V6 comment, same goes for V8s. I may take a quick peek at a show to see if the cars modded, but basically any 5th gen Camaro gets passed right by. I have no hate for the V6 at all. I just feel that when I am surrounded by beautiful classics at a car show, I don't need to take notice of every other 5th gen Camaro there with 3M chrome, excessively over badged and LEDs stuck everywhere they can be. Tacky is tacky, V6, V8... whatever.

No disrespect meant, but I don't think her car is anything special. It may be to her, and that's great but I am not wowed by it at all.

I am sure a lot of people feel the same way about mine, and I don't care. Today mine is loaded up with tools in the trunk and some blinds to hang at work. The saw dust is still in the trunk from when I hauled some lumber. Oh, and guess what, it may rain today and I still haven't washed it from when it got poured on 2 weeks ago! Car still runs great, hasn't fallen apart. And now for the kicker. I may go to Walmart today. You can bet your bottom dollar I'll only take one spot.

I am sorry if people take offense to what I say or feel I am rude or crass but, the stigmata associated with this car is not a positive one. No wonder some non-5th gen owners won't talk to us... they think we have huge chips on our shoulders.

What people fail to realize is that a lot of those with the elite SS attitude are not true enthusiasts. This might be their first sports car. Remember, Chevy built up a lot of hype for these cars. And people flocked to see them. Enthusiasts and every day people alike. These attitudes are displayed by people who are new to all this.

As far as your car is concerned...sheesh man, hahaha!! Clean that thing out...lol!!

Honestly, i don't see anything wrong with some of the complaints from the original posts. Like the shirts. WTF is wrong with having a club shirt, or 5th gen shirts? Hell, Camaro5 sells their own clothing and other merchandise. I suppose anyone that buys them are not cool enough to hang around?

Parking in your own group and taking up space...don't see the problem here either. Are they preventing other cars from parking anywhere? Do they have to be asked to leave because there's no more parking? I'm sure if this were the case, the people running the event would ask the camaro club to park closer together. is that happening? Doubtful.

"Snubbing" the camaro club because you don't care for them...that's childish. They probably have no clue how you feel about them. So in their eyes, you probably seem like the stuck up one, and are too good to hang around them. And if you have told them, then i DOUBT they would keep asking you to park with them.

It's unfortunate that the OP lives in an area where the camaro folks aren't up to his standard. I know the vegas crew has about 15-20 camaros that show up every saturday to a car show called "cars & coffee", and there is not one owner that does any kind of peeling out, or unnecessary revving...unless to show off a new mod that might affect their exhaust...then they may rev a little. We also don't let another persons car affect the way we feel about that person. We have people that put lambo doors on their car. Some people in our club don't care for that, but we don't dislike anyone for doing it. That's childish.

My advice, deal with your problems in person. don't bottle it up to the point where you have to create a thread about how disappointed you are in the 5th gen community. At least until you've handled your own personal feelings toward them. Who knows, maybe after you talk to a few of them, your views on the 5th gen camaro community might change a little. If not, then move to vegas and see what you think about our little group.

Just seems to be a lot of hoopla for such petty stuff. Like they slapped your momma or something.
