Blue velvet. Gorgeous color.
Side note, anyone ran into “detect protocol failed” with hpt? Trying to read the ecu but it keeps throwing that error.

Just received some engine bay "dress up" stuff from American Brother Designs. I will preface that the stuff is not cheap and takes around 6 weeks to get once ordered. All the stuff pictured was almost $500.
. I'm not perfomance modifying my Z, so this stuff will just have to do for "modifications" These are made from billett aluminum and you can get them painted pretty much any color the 6th gen came in and either have the logos(you get to choose which/what logos you want on whichever piece...Camaro lettering, SS, ZL1, Bowtie, etc)...engraved or painted a color of your choosing as well. I'm a "subtle" type of guy so I went the "boring" route and had them painted black to match my ZL1 and then had the stuff engraved. I'll post pics of them installed once I have time to put them on.(couple weeks maybe)

1st oil change on the 2021 (since I bought it in March). Oil sample sent off for analysis. Switched to a magnetic plug also.

Drove it and enjoyed it. Traction is comically non existent even with the continental extreme contact tires on it. Also noticed to day it started having a flare on the 2-3 shift that I’ve never experienced. Almost like it gets stuck between the gears for a second. Only happening at light throttle. Was reading some older posts on the 6L80’s doing that after a new tune. I tried resetting the learning stuff with HPT which seemed to help but not eliminate. Going to try the fast learn and see if that does it.

I have pretty much everything they have except the covers for the trunk. Quality stuff and adds some flair to the car.

I prefer a cleaner look under the hood.

This was Saturday, not today. Gonna take some heat for not snapping the pic at 10 MPH and 1000 RPM, but I was approaching a line of cars at a red light and I don't normally touch my phone while driving.

Do you remember when it looked like this?
Just picked up a completely stock, unmolested 2021 ZLE A10 to begin a series of installation videos from beginning to end. |
