It pays to be careful when reading. He said 100 rwhp gains for $5k in parts, which is about right, if not a bit cheap. Besides there isn't a blower on the market for $600 bucks let's be real. What you may have gotten for a steal isn't representative of real world costs. Most guys don't work on cars themselves so $5k worth of parts and another $2k in labor, maybe, still isn't bad by comparison to what most 100 rwhp packages cost on the 5th gen ZL1 at its inception. Just from what's out there Jannetty, Lingenfelter, ADM, and other reputable shops 100 rwhp would run you somewhere in the ball park of 7k all said and done. Long gone are the days of crappy one-trick rockets that you hauled to the track with a spare carburetor and a mechanic just in case the thing detonated.

Get over yourself. It is you that needs to improve his comprehension skills. I understand and can "read" 5K in parts which is ridiculous for anyone other than a sucker. 5 grand for headers and a pulley, indeed Pal. At no point in my post do I suggest that an aftermarket S/C can be purchased new for $600. Go get 100 for your $7,000 and enjoy your bargain jack wad. No one needs your condescending BS Pal.

I never thought about that ! Good answer

Exactly. I'm glad we still have cars like this that exist.

Condescending? I apologize if your feelings got hurt, but I don't recall name-calling in my post. I was simply stating that you misquoted John. If me saying that it pays to read, offended you then you should probably find....(now i'm condescending)...a forum more suited to your level of reading comprehension. I'm an adult and I don't internet beef. I discuss my point of view without encroaching on others or using 5th grade terms like "jack wad". You words meant even less to me when you responded in such a manner.....Back to the point, I think 5k in parts would be more than just headers, pulley, and tune, but that would all depend on how reliable you want the power to be. Lingenfelter 5th gen ZL1 700HP pckg comes in at approx. 11k, with a 2-year 24,000 mile warranty. 650 RWHP could be had from Jannety at about 10k out the door. So, conservatively speaking 5-7k for 100 rhwp isn't an ass reaming. Obviously, some of us can find better deals, but for the less mechanically inclined, this would be an option.

I am 60 years old and have been actively involved in engine building, racing, car restoration and the car business for my entire adult life. We build automotive and high output Harley motors from our own blueprints. I do not need an angry guy like you to straighten me out on the cost of performance modifications. I could write a book on the subject. Enjoy.

Yeah, says it was A10, no reason to think it wasn't. That thing is nasty!

That car needs tires in a bad way. The 100 mph indicates a high 6 or low 7 sec 1/8th mile.
