It's an street model SUV with the wrong name, (Blazer). Right now, GM will get its lunch eaten in that segment by the new Bronco. GM will be johnny come lately again.

On the flip side if they do kill the Camaro maybe that leaves the door open to come out with a Chevelle or a Monte SS, I would be interested in those being offered.
Yeah, and they will stick the Chevelle or Monte Carlo SS name on another GM mistake, like the Blazer name on a Mexico made SUV sporty look soccer mom driver.

My son and I carried two of his 18 year old female fellow HS grads out to eat to Tupelo, MS (45 minute drive) about a week ago in his '17 RS. Yeah he (5'10") and I,( 5'11") sat in the front with seats forward and the girls 5'7" and 5'4", sat in the back. They said that they had plenty of room and loved his car. It's what you make it or just drop the Camaro and put the name on that sporty "Blazer" instead, more room and better visibility. BTW, he and I couldn't get a word in edgeways! Ha!

I'm not sure of the track record of this site or its sources, but it unfortunately sounds pretty plausible, including the timeline.

The 5th gen had 4 years of the original style and 2 years of a refresh. The 6th gen had 3 years of the original style, 1 year of what is considered maybe a failed refresh, and now a 3rd minor refresh for 2020. I can see this last iteration of the refresh carrying it the next 4 years before it ends production with no major changes to the car or any new trims.

The only thing that makes me kinda question this is that the Camaro LT1, the cheaper V8, is coming out to try to boost sales. It sounds like they aren't giving it a chance to see if it would help. But it's not hard to imagine that sales are so low and the segment as a whole has shrunk to the point where they don't care. I'd imagine the LT1 was already greenlit back when Al O was still around, also.

I'm sure the Camaro nameplate will be too tempting for them to not defile its grave in the future, but what can you do? It's just amazing they gave us some cool cars to enjoy with styling and performance that'd been gone since the early 70's. As a young kid, I never thought as an adult I'd get to own a proper new muscle car. And we'll continue to see these cars rolling on the streets for years to come.

The Gen 4 ran from 93 to 2002 and got very stale and sold very poorly in its last year. Same thing could happen to the Gen 6, especially if no Gen 7 in the pipeline. GM Authority says Gen 7 just delayed. Better not delay too long or will be forgotten during Gen 6 extended run. I was filling up my son's 17 RS the other night and a man with two vettes came up to me, looked his Camaro over and tried to figure out what it was. He didn't know that they were still making Camaros. Thanks, GM.

I hate what the lady says at the end of the Blazer commercial, ‘give that person a cookie and a star’! What kind of crap is that? Is GM trying to sell to little kids now!

Has anyone out there heard if GM cut the Racing Support for drag racing and NASCAR? I have been wondering lately with Mary B.in charge of GM now!

I have no doubt that there will be Camaros produced annually up to 2023 and well beyond that year. Not worried.

I admire your optimism. The track record of stupid decisions by GM is against you, though.

Only time will tell.

Millenials are coming to play in car sales demographics and most of them don't buy cars that eat gas. Some don't buy cars at all.

Take that away and say that GM has done all they can do with a Camaro, it could mean Ford plans the same thing and they want to try something new.

If they are planning on a new flagship muscle car, I really hope they learned their lessons of the past such as rebranding Holden Commodores that Pontiac rebranded and called them a G8 then Chevy rebranded as an SS.
I wouldn't be too opposed to something entirely new as long as it held up to the standards I am used to.
By then, my loan will be long paid off and I can weigh the options without going upside down to stay trendy. lol!

By 2023, American Motors may come back and make a kick ass Gremlin.

NASCAR is a joke. None of those cars are Camaros or Mustangs. Same frames with decals to make them look like those two cars. NASCAR is dying. More tarps over empty seats than seats with fans in them at most races.
