Lmfso , yeah I’ll do other things while I wait. Hmm yeah I was wondering that as well to. He kinda just said it quick than went on about other things lol. Might be a mod worth trying to do and use my stock intake again.

I'm thinking once you have the front bumper off the car it will be obvious what is blocking the air cleaner intake.
The hardest part will be getting the bumper off the car and not scratching the paint.

true dat, I loved it when the Challenger came out with a cold air induction in the headlight assembly.

You don’t have to take the front end off to remove the plastic block off

Can you give some info on how to remove the block off without taking off the bumper?

For all y'all asking about the front grill blockoff....

Just take a look through the Front Grill over to where the factory intake sits, you will see a black plastic panel blocking ANY real air from entering that area. It is pretty obvious when you see it. Just cut/remove the panel. Simple.

I did not remove the front bumper to cut it. I removed my piece by first removing the large metal radiator shroud u see in front of engine bay. Everything u need to see and do is now accessible.

I guess I’ll ask, is it permanent?

If its blocked...why did Chevy put it there?

Probably in an attempt to keep the stock air filter from getting clogged up prematurely. But the above posts are correct. The inlet is completely blocked from direct air. Although try as I might, I just couldn’t maneuver that radiator shroud the right way to remove it completely and address it.

There will be some back to back comparison runs for the dyno junkies , TUNE for TUNE!

We already have a mountain of on road data from this past year of testing that we will show as well.

Many will be glad they waited.
Others will also see why it takes about 1 year on average to design a proper intake ,production tooling and run 12,000 miles of on road testing in different weather and driving conditions.
If speed to end result is your thing , We did produce the COPO's in 30 days , and the super rare factory shootout air-boxes in under 5 days! We just finished designing & manufacturing a new supercharged unit for Gen5 and Gen6 COPO's in under 3 days! Those are all race parts = Zero mass production consideration or a production GM ECM to deal with for those that don't want to have to tune.

Production parts simply take longer , The Long term on road testing is far more involved. Plus, we test all of the goofy mods and our competitions products as well. That's one of the many reasons why we always beat everyone in real world tests.
Another example: The DRX system for 2012-2015's took 1 year as well. To this day, No system can match its power for the LS-3 and the ZL-1 units are full production custom parts, yielding power numbers no one ever expected "OVER" other systems = 30hp+ on some ZL-1's.
Those that have tuned them ,love them because they yield "clean" MAF readings. This makes them super easy to tune for drivability. That allows the tuner or builder to produce a far more radical combination with no loss of drivability.
Your typical cone and pipe setup :
Typical cone filter = 60% pressure drop.
Unsealed plenum assembly = Very little vacuum is pulled from a cold air location. This ='s more heat soaked airflow , usually 16-30+ deg hotter than ambient . ( factory box works far better, usually only 2-4 deg above ambient)
Poor bend angles = Poor flow
Smaller than OEM "ID"= Poor flow volume and a tricked ECM.

If all anyone wanted was a CAI , just keep the stock box,put a high flow filter in it and remove the front grill block-off so it can breath properly.
That combination outperforms most current aftermarket production systems in real world testing.

LT-4 : The LT-4 requires more volume than even the "BIG TUBE" guys can deliver! They are in for a shock!

VR Tech
So you are this far into production and have 0 dyno data yet??? I would think that would be part of product development long long long before the product is ready for prime time and actual production.

update please and please send to a tuner to validate what it can do vs rotofab. for me it's gonna be one or the other. doubt the gm cai is the best option.
