GM then takes their observations and makes any final tweeks/changes to the car before it goes into production for the public.

When GM is done with the CTF cars, a limited number may be prepared for resale, while most of them are destroyed I believe.

CTF cars can be identified from their VIN's, as they have a different VIN series from the normal production vehicles.
ahhh...thank you!

How exactly are they prepared for resale? Are they sold at a discount?

GM fixes whatever needs fixing (Thor had cloth interior panels instead of the plastic acrylic ones) and auctions them off to dealers I think.

Mustang is brand spanking new and Challenger has been refreshed.. Camaro sales can only go up once the redesign hits (Unless they royally screw up).. We probably have 7 months to take deliveries and for it to count though.

If a CTF will be offered for sale, GM goes through the car and brings everything up to snuff. It then get's sold as a used car I believe, at a slight discount, but not a bunch.

As far as how a dealer get's their hands on one, I have no idea.

I know my local dealer has had a ZL1 CTF in the past, and I think they 'might' have a Z/28 CTF.

I thought 003 had different wheels??..............

But seriously, it was nice of you to share the experience back in the day. Thanks

Yep they were replaced due to a theft from my driveway. I caught a lot of heat internally for posting here on Camaro5 that I wondered why someone would bother stealing LT wheels. Apparently a few non company car drivers made a stink claiming I clearly didn't appreciate having a company car. I always felt fortunate and privalaged to drive a company car and especially a CTF Camaro...........I just didn't think those wheels were worth stealing.

Wasn't it transformed into a Transformers edition?

Yes, Thor was tarted up with all the Hollywood trappings. I liked him without the make up.

I can assure you though, on my deathbed, I will recall driving that yellow Camaro on Daytona Beach with the windows down and hearing almost every little kid scream, "Look!!!! Bumblebee"

Perhaps my most powerful car memory.

In the end, none of that mattered.

Maybe for them... but it sure mattered for us who were buying a car we'd never seen in person or sat in.

I mean how else would we have ever known 2 sets of golf clubs fit in the trunk..
