1993 first year of 4th gen Camaro
1994 first year of 4th gen Mustang

it has nothing to do with waiting for Ford

Agreed. But I believe they are waiting to the last minute to make changes to keep the competition guessing ..

... was it red??

I know this much... everyone in the upper echelon are excited about the car, and would like to give us all the information we would like, but it's all about the competition. Keep FoMoCo in the dark as long as possible without alienating the buyer.

to be honest I really think this means nothing, the 6 gen will be sold in Europe, at some point but the question here is, will be a simultaneous release?

CTF VIN number 3. A special car for sure. Only a few people were able to get cars with a th 90xxxxxx VIN. Regular production went to 91xxxxxxx

And yes, it was RED!

Some of the early CTF cars were repurposed as Mules for later models. Some were scrapped. Not sure the whole volume of CTF that was sold. There were 800 cars or so built with pre production VINs sold to the public.

Thor was the car we took to Florida in the spring of 09. Not sure of Thor's VIN.

So simply to bring back some CTF excitement....................Number 3 and Thor.

Hey I rode in that yellow car.

Thor was sold to someone who is aware of their car's status.

CTF stands for Captured Test Fleet.

When GM launches a new line of cars, they initially (before public production starts) produce a small fleet of cars that are assigned to various employees to drive for about 4,000 miles or so while taking extremely detailed notes about EVERYTHING they see, feel, hear, etc about the car.

GM then takes their observations and makes any final tweeks/changes to the car before it goes into production for the public.

When GM is done with the CTF cars, a limited number may be prepared for resale, while most of them are destroyed I believe.

CTF cars can be identified from their VIN's, as they have a different VIN series from the normal production vehicles.
