New dyno numbers for my H/C/SBE A8. 587/519rw

Well, I finally got the car back on the dyno after the new trans, converter and injectors. I also re-ported my MSD and switched from the stock plugs to NGK LTrIX 6's. I don't think the plugs helped. They haven't in the past over stock plugs. I forgot I swapped them. Still my ported heads and STG 3 cam. Cut out's were closed.

Sick power for NA. I would like to see a cam setup utilize that MSD and go 7k plus rpm. 600whp easy

Damn this is def on my list! Do you need a separate tune for the cutouts if they are right after the headers?

I know I'm interested in a cam that makes peaks about 7k as well.

Good stuff Brett, can't wait to see how it runs at the track in good air. Could be a new record holder there as well.

Thanks guys.

I am trying to get to the track tomorrow. We will see how that goes. I have some family stuff to take care of in the morning and they are calling for 40% chance of rain. I got to see if they are open.

I will be putting new tires on in the morning. Mine are shot. If they have 26's I may do them. But for now I am planning on going back with my 305/45's.

I have my cut outs way in the back. They don't really serve a purpose the way they ended up. I only see 3-5rw with them open. We are going to be doing a re-design of the exhaust soon.

My plan was for 6,800-7K shift points. Once I do the 0* phaser limiter it should carry to there. However, this cam was originally designed to be retarded 4* up top to help extend the power band. That didn't work out so it tips over at 6,500 for now. I had TQ on the brain and the stock bolts and bearings in mind as well. I have a STG 4 cam in my head that I may do at some point. I am also still running through the cats.

Remember that this is only a 229/237 cam on a 109 center line. It's a baby. I have also made MANY refinements to my porting program since I did my heads.

I think a 103 TB, U/D pulley, reworked exhaust track with cut out's properly placed could be worth another 15-20rw. I am also pushing water now so I will have to address that. But that is another story for another time.

The goal now is 9.9's in the 1/4. Just got to figure out a way to get there. Dyno's are just tools for tuning. That is about all they mean to me. Making it all work is going to be the real deal. The next focus will be suspension and gears. Possibly a 15" conversion. Not sure on that one yet though.
