Super Charging SS at the dealer ?

I have a few questions about Super Charging my SS.

1. Can this be done by the dealer with factory parts ?

2. Will I keep my Warranty ?

3. Will any thing have to be changed on the inside of the motor ?

4. How much will it cost ?

5. Is there a better way to get the HP and still keep Warranty ?

Thanks guys !!

Ford performance offers a supercharger for the Mustang GT that is covered under factory warranty but GM does not. It is $7000.

Thanks guys. I would touch it without Factory Warranty. I'll wait for the ZL1.

Actually there is a way, you can get a Callaway package through select GM dealers. For a Camaro SS it is the SC630 package (for 630hp) and for the ZL1 it is the SC750 (for 750hp). You are able to finance the package with the purchase of the car. It still retains the factory warranty and you can even get an extended warranty up to 5 years/50,000 miles. The Callaway package costs $16,995.

You can get more info at the Callaway website.

I did this with my 50th anniversary camaro.

Actually,
1. No, The Eaton Super charger that Callaway uses is much better than the factory ZL1 setup.

2. Yes, 3yrs/36,000 miles with option to extend warranty

3. No

4. $16,995.00 and it can be financed in with the purchase

5. No, You will be going from 455 hp to 630hp!

There are cheaper options out there no doubt but the void the factory warranty.

Why not just buy a ZL1 if you want a blown SS.
Seems to make more sense then buying and SS and putting blower on it and re-engineering the drivetrain.
If that still don't have enough snort for you then you can go from there. Or just get a Hennessy for the final word.

Great info guys. Thanks.

I personally will put the money towards the ZL1. But I can see why some would do it if there was a package they really liked. Like the 50 anniversary.

On a side note. Is there a ZL1 that has all the bells and whistles like my 2ss ? That would be something that might make me consider it. I like the leather seats and stereo. Is there a ZL1 with the 2ss stuff ?

Uh, yeah...

Basically, the ZL1 comes fully loaded like the 2SS plus some extras...

Yeah, you tell the dealer to have the factory install the ZL1 option for $14k

Gotta love life when you can own a kickass 650hp factory car w/ warranty for under $65k

Our local dealership contracts with a local speed shop that does all kinds of mods including SC on brand new Vettes and Camaros. They keep the warranty but the cost per HP is pretty steep. I think it's something like $17k for a setup making about 565 hp out of a 16+ SS

I test drove a 2018 ZL1 the same day I ended up buying my Callaway. Both were awesome, I liked the Callaway more and it ended up being about 8K less than the ZL1.

Actually I went shopping that day to get a GT350 but ford would not let me test drive it and they were marked up 6 or 7K over MSRP.
