Thinking about CQuartz but need advice
I'm anal when it comes to the cleanliness of my vheicles, especially my Camaro. That said, I'm thinking on taking the leap and taking advantage of auto geek's cyber sale.
https://www.autogeek.net/car-paint-g...-coatings.html That said. can someone (Glene maybe) point me in the right direction as to which products to buy to complete my tasks? right now, I simply use polish/ Mothers carnauba wax's on it. (maybe 3 layers of that stuff). Thanks in advance.

The two types of coatings are ceramic and cross linked polymers. Ceramic is harder and lasts longer but a little more difficult to apply. Ceramic is also much more expensive.
Keep in mind that you can still get swirls with a coating so if you are super anal, you may be polishing off the coating before the lifespan is up. But they give you enough product in the bottle to do your car 2-3 times. I can't stand swirls so I polish my car at least 2x per year, so coatings are a waste for me.

I wouldn’t do a coating, I’d just wax on buff off carpro essence polish, then wipe on Reload....so much easier and protection for 6 months:
Like here....or do the essence and then CQUARTZUK, watch the you tubes, easy application. http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showth...hlight=Essence |

I've been researching this too but doubt I will do it. One thing I learned, watching one video with Corey from CarPro, is that he lets Essence dry/setup overnight before applying the coating or Reload. Last time I did this I only let Essence sit for an hour or so...

It's best to do your coating indoors also, especially now that the trees are dropping all sorts of junk.
Off topic: I have a freaking sweet gum tree in my driveway that drops leaves, gumballs, seeds, pollen and dust. It is the worst.

Sweet gum tree needs to meet Mr. Chainsaw. A weak and fast-growing tree that breaks in storms. Not to mention the horrible gum balls. Cutting one down at my last house was a wise decision.

awesome. seen a few options about the essence, I just picked the one with the high gloss and the reload.
I was just going to say, someone needs to take down the tree, and fast. lol.

I have 2 gum trees RIGHT next to my driveway (those are the ones with the spiked balls right?). The shade they provide for the entire afternoon is more valuable than the mess the tree makes IMO. Tough conundrum.

My understanding is that there is only two versions, one contains abrasives and one that doesn't. The one that doesn't contain abrasives is primarily used for maintenance polish, usually on an existing coating.

Yup, this is the one you want if you’re doing the basic essence/reload procedure discussed here

Yes thats the tree. It cuts my electricity bill in the summer but it is a huge mess. Plus, it is on an incline. That makes it a safety hazard. The little balls can put you on roller skates. I have fallen before on them, but now I am getting older. A bad fall now and I am out for a while.
